These were all done on Nightmare Mode, completely blind, on ng+.
in those fights you have waaay more arts, items, foods, party members etc
they don't feel entirely hopeless because you can try out new strategy, formations etc meanwhile with kurt you're entirely at the mercy of the rng or you can't win period.
Well, so is the death chariot fight actually. But you can always go back a few saves ago and get a bunch of death resistant items
Arianrhod can still be baited with raging spin lloyd, evasion tank or not, it will just take longer because you have to babysit him.

Man, hearing this theme when going up against a certain Erebonian diplomat was so wild. It's such a tricky fight, too, so you really get to hear the entire track multiple times. AND THEN IT BECOMES THE REGULAR BATTLE THEME LATER ON. A+
Also love the references to the main theme. Such good writing.
why was that guy SO STRONG ? I thought I would atomize any boss with my current character but he hits hard (thanks god you can lose this fight)
I just got here today. Tried and failed multiple times.
Finally managed to win by keeping him Clock Down'd and keeping myself Sylphen Guarded and Clock Up EX'd at all times.
@@cuac232 thats the only proper way too afaik. You need to have at leeast 3 turns consecutively in your hand, to prepare and cast heal and then attack, which is kinda impossible even if you get 2 expecially on hard and nightmare difficulties since he hits like a truck and items are not enough.
You know what's great about the Trails games is that the impactful story moments really feels impactful. This is one bit of music which really emphasises that so well. "This is a climactic, important boss fight. Time to kick ass!"

I literally used this in my ttrpg campaign when 2 of my players had to fight against each other. They loved the song, despite the result being unpleasant, that guy killed the player we were all rooting for...
still my favorite ost from the trails franchise. Estelle and Joshua fighting interdimensional, lovecraftian, beings as regular encounters, because they were powerful enough, because they were the only ones who could at the time. True heroes, from The legend of Heroes. This song brings a smile everytime.
Easily one of the best themes in the sky series, My god why is falcom so good at making music
they have an in-house sound team, that's why.

I beat FC in hard mode. Hmm it’s was okay…struggled for a bit.
I started SC in hard mode and holy hell I thought I wasn’t going to get past the first test of a boss in the beginning (freaking cookies saved my ass), the horde of mobs chests, and even some mini-bosses.
I died a lot in this game more than in the FC. Every monster was doing 2k-3k dmg and I was even getting 0 dmg done to them. WHOA!!
This game was a frickin ride.
One of the best soundtrack from one of my favorite game!

Huh, you guys had a tough time with Amalthea? Maybe it's because I've played on normal but she set her mines randomly at the edge of the map, her placing mines was essentially giving me no damage turns because if she would've fired her gun 2-3x in a row then that would've been an extra like 2000 damage.
@@MrSasukeSusanoo The irony is that the annoying part are not the mines themselves since they can be easily avoided, but how they are actually very good at stealing you valuable strength boost and critical attack/spell turns.

+Carlos Severino I beat the game in 9 days, clocking in 85 hours on normal difficulty.
It's actually hard as hell if you don't cheese it. Especially the Loewe battle, Jesus Christ, I spent 2 hours and finally beat him, then my PC decided to shit out so I had to try again.

I beat kurt on hard first try by pure luck and still dropped the difficulty because if that's what a perfect run is i dont give time for the game to not be cooperative down the road.
I'm not going to be caught up for cold steel 4 but I tried
I don't have time for the difficulty spikes that's why i'm playing all the past trails games on normal difficulty, I want to finish them and get to CS4 as soon as possible
To be fair, I think only an one in a million genius could get a perfect run on these games without having completed a previous playthrough. I have played many JRPGs and I have never seen a difficulty curve as broken as that from the Trails in the Sky series.

This track mainly plays during random battles across the Liber Ark, in which you fight against various kinds of archaisms, extradimensional creatures, and all around sci-fi stuff that doesn't normally show up in 'mundane' areas in the game. The Liber Ark is one of the last remaining relics of a bygone empire, which had technology so advanced it appears to be magic to most of the people in the game.
Thus, in my opinion, the title 'The Fate of the Fairies' alludes to the fact that despite having such a wondrous technology, the ultimate fate of that civilization was to collapse, and you are fighting in the last remnant of their existence.
