There's a deep water kit that pumps positive pressure into the vents to keep everything dry. They're on Ebay. Also, need to take your canvas top off. Keeping you from sinking as fast as you could, AND you're going to total the side bows.

Having been part of team racing a Jeep in the Naples Swamp Buggy races many years ago besides sealing the vent for the transmission with a one way check valve, they need to remove the top, fill the tires with water or calcium, put snow chains on al for tires, and drill vent holes in the rear fenders and floors to get the vehicle to sink as quick as possible, additionally he needs to seal the exhaust up and give it a bigger stack and since they are going down 15 feet probably pump air to the engine. Remember 15 feet is one atmosphere so that stack for fresh air is like you or me trying to run a 100 yard dash. Breathing though a cocktail straw. And last but not least grease the hell out of that truck

@@gullreefclub 15ft below surface isn't 1atm. It's right under 1/2atm, but of water pressure, not air. That doesn't matter anyway and would actually help it breathe if it were intake air pressure. It has a huge intake tube to breathe through that is no restriction, IF his rubber intake couplers aren't collapsing under the ~7psi max pressure differential between the water and intake air tract.
The fact that this thing still runs after being hydrolocked several times is amazing.

As long as you dont crank it after it dies underwater, it usually wont hurt the motor
DUDE !!! the water is getting in at the flanges not at the tail pipe !! those flanges NEVER seal !! they are exactly like a valve and seat, tapered fitting. They LEAK just like a bad valve seat ! put some Extreme Heat Gasket Sealer in there and tighten barely snug.... wait two hours, then tighten and torque them so they're even torque on the flange seat. NOW you won't lose horsepower, shoot water out the exhaust and eventually hydro-lock the motor. DO IT MAN ! and add 15' to your tranny vent line.... and make sure it's sealed up good. YOU CAN MAKE IT !
Flanges you mean the air tube ? self agglomerating tape should do the job also.

For this reason all the oil company's wanted them to come work for them, they could do the job faster and more effectively than anyone else because they didn't need to resurface as often to communicate.

@@Zirion123 For real. Its blowing water out of the exhaust because of the exhaust leak behind the dash. The V band at the snorkel is tight as a drum.They hit a tree with the snorkel and it didn't immediately break off, he had to roll another 6 ft before it gave up. That V band is clamped on there TIGHT to hold that much piping against a solid object before it broke. The one at the manifold however is obviously loose, broken or straight up not attached.

2 things we need for this to work :
1) PAINT IT YELLOW! Everybody knows a good submarine is supposed to be yellow!
2) They're going to have to really seal the complete intake and exhaust until it's truly air tight AND ADD A SUPERCHARGER.
I feel like Cleetus should know this, as a scuba driver (yes, I know auto correct fucked up "diver" but I'm leaving it in, since we're driving under water here) but for every 30 ft you go under, you're enduring a bar of extra pressure bearing down on you, which is why you breathe through a pressure regulator that equalises the outside pressure with the pressure going into your lungs.
You're going to have to overcome the water pressure with the pressure of the air going into the engine. That's why it's running so rough. It's choking.
Basic physics, guys.
The only thing more American than cleet driving under water, is cleet driving under water in a retired military humvee!!!😄😄🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇸

As a former HMMWV maintenance and SL-3 NCO, I can assure you that these trucks either work or don't. When they work they are insanely impressive. But they generally don't.
I've you'll buy the deep water fording kit it has a cdr valve upgrade that sends crank pressure to diffs, brakes trans etc helping keep water out. Pointless if it stalls and is submerged for minutes tho lol

I like how Madie's new fiancé has now tried 3 time to drive a HUMVEE under water and she's completely unfazed by it. I'm more nervous than she is about it.
I have the 6.5 turbo version of that same Detroit diesel in my Suburban, I love that motor, it just keeps going and going It'll never be as powerful as a Cummins, Duramax, or Powerstroke, but it just keeps running and running, and pulls like a champ.
I enjoyed the JH and Madi commentary about the grass.
I consider this a pass. You drove it completely submerged. And even restarted it underwater. To go completely through at this point is just the icing on the cake. 🦅🇺🇸✌️

My big complaint is that he is leaving the primary reg facing up sitting on the floor which means it will piss out gas at full bore and drain the tank. He should have it face down or take it off the reg.

@@Ammoniummetavanadate came here to mention the free-flow problem. I’m a diving instructor, and you can dump a full tank with a free-flowing reg in less than 2 minutes (assuming your first stage isn’t a PoS). That’s not ideal while trying to navigate while Humvarining 👍🏻

The aneroid in the fuel injection pump is being crushed by the water pressure, enrichening the fuel. It needs to be disconnected in order to keep the engine running!
Hey man, that thing has an exhaust leak somewhere near where the headers come together. I drove these things for 8yrs and they are horrible for that. I can hear it leaking that's why you are filling the exhaust up with water.

Can the military issue Humvee get some love here? This seriously makes me want to buy one. The average person could NEVER kill one of these things!
I learned of the water crossing in themilitary.. cannot go much beyond the extra snorkel they gave it. its about weight of the atmosphere. the 300 cummins 5 tonners could go 8 feet. He should find one of those.
Here is some love...they are so good that multiple time we would run out of coolant in Iraq, outside the wire. We put Gatorade in the radiator and off they would go. Never even told the mechanics. Just tip it off with water later if we had a chance or more Gatorade if we forgot.
Yeah the average person couldn't even hardly afford to buy one but he buys it just to trash it....I used to like cleeter but lately it seems like he just buy crap to buy it and don't really appreciate it ....just like money he dropped on the hunmve just to destroy it what a shame

Try charging or changing your secondary battery. HMMWVs with allison transmissions are hooked to the second battery for gear selection. This could be causing your shifting problem.

If you have the scuba gear you might want to check the bottom of the pond first. Then you would know where go or not go. Jeep did this years ago but you can do it in the humvee!
