Update 12-01-23 The Rane Four with the orange buttons have the same issue with the left platter slipping I sent the unit into Rane and I’m still waiting on an update from them. I’ve shot them a couple emails but Rane is not responding back. I bought this unit back in April and we’re in Dec now and I have not had a unit that worked properly. The multiple replacement units that they sent had the same issue. and was returned for another defective Rane Four as Dec 1st 2023 I don’t have a Rane Four Rane has it I have lost money by not being able to do events if I do not hear back from Rane sometime next week i’m going to file a lawsuit against the company for selling me a lemon product I will update what happens
Yes left platter on mine is acting up I always bought pioneer my first and last Rane product it’s not yet a year old I bought it in march 2023 This is ridiculous I had a pioneer sz and used it till I sold it never had one issue with it period I just emailed Rane I’m hoping they have a solution cause I’m living abroad and the import tax here in Thailand is very costly I’m not paying that again
So glad I saw these videos. Was about to buy this online. Going back to Pioneer. Rane already robbed me $2100 on the Rane 68 only to stop supporting it. Garbage company now. I’m selling all the gear I have left and going with Pioneer. Done
Thanks for the update bro. I'm having same issues and now my channele 2 upfader drops out. I emailed rane and they talking about USB and dust spray. I'm so upset.
Thanks for the video. I've got what sound like a few screws rattling about inside my unit. Sometimes obstructing the platters. You would have thought quality control would have been paramount for the first batch of orders (UK here).
@@Iamdprice Update - received unit back relatively quickly a few months back. Rane even posted to my house which was nice. Replaced the two platters on unit with brand new platters. The problem I had was rattling inside the unit, a quality control issue. As mine was one of the first in the UK last year (March 17th) I'm guessing this was missed. The platters were replaced because whatever was rattling inside was interfering with them. Unit is smooth as silk now.
I just purchased the Rane 4 last week. It's still in the box. After seeing this video, im really debating if I want to keep it, or return it. I certainly don't want to have any platter issues like you did!
I ended up returning the Rane 4 and purchasing the Pioneer Rev 7. Wasn’t taking any chances. Plus I hear the effects on the Rane 4 were not that good especially the Reverb effect. Heard it’s terrible on the Rane 4. Needs to come out with a better controller before I purchase one again! Good that they finally came out with onboard effects, but needs improvements! Pioneer in my opinion is in the lead. Worth the extra money to get a better controller!
@@Iamdprice Good choice! I love the controller! Has everything I need. The motorized jog wheels is what I like since I learned on turntables. Can’t go wrong! It’s definitely worth the money!
Im having issues as well. Deck A display randomly stoped working. I freaked the F out. Then after restarting it it working again. And next issue was deck B just froze up while doing a set.
This thing happened to me also. I had the latest firmware and the Rane Four with orange marking...I submitted a ticket to inMusic, let's see what they will say😢
This really makes me angry. I was one of the first people to buy the Rane four as soon as it came out and Rane is now releasing better units now. I basically paid for a lemon while new customers are getting a better version for the same money.
No I just did a gig and the jog wheel was slow to respond and would slip the cue buttons also lagged I couldn't restart the Rane Four since it was prime time and the floor was packed at the point Idk

Did you send it back to the retailer?
@@Iamdprice Contacted them yes, and submitted a ticket to Rane. Hopefully they'll sort me out as it's under warranty.

My Rane 4 the left platter if I try to slow it down it acts like I touched the top of it and did a backspin wtf

Not hard at all you just have to download it from Rane have the board connected and powered on

I’ve only seen one other person in a FB Rane group that has one with the orange buttons it’s seems to be a rare find as of now

I got one a month ago and it’s not the updated unit with orange fonts. Mine has the white fonts and my platters are not responding accurately
