The fact that the Avatar has been held captive in the Gold Trenches for almost half the series really shows really shows how fast the anime caught up to the source material and is adding filler to stall for time. Hopefully the Brian manga comes off of hiatus soon so the anime can progress again.
It will be so poetic when Pianta gets out of gold at the last champion.
