I think it's a fantastic idea to do a faction overview on a faction you are playing / have recently played, as it gives you a much better insight on the workings of the faction and its units. Would be nice to see you make an overview with every campaign you do! Though, off course, that would take much longer to churn out these vids.
Great production quality. Info is also correct cause you have insight thanks to experience. Effort was clearly put in and I consider this the best format for DaC faction overviews. Some extra things about Lothlorien: - better ancillary pool than Woodland Realm but worse than High Elves, - Governors bad in generating income but good at managing corruption, public unrest and squalor, - Quite high extra movement range bonuses for generals, - One of the highest casualty recoveries after battle, - balanced melee/ranged model count, - Better eco thanks to access to Anduin from start, - Slower population grow compared to most factions without Yavanna's Gardens and Dancing Guilds (early Game), - No tier 3 ports and merchant wharfs, - More durable units resulting in line infantry like archers unlike their cousins, - Skirmish gameplay thanks to Tier 2 archers having more arrows - Less burst damage with archers compared to other Silvan elves, - Less ranged units compared to Woodland Realms (no javelins or horse archers without script choice),
My good friend, what an epic way to start your list of factions than with the elves... It really was a great job with the units, their improvements, faction characteristics, among others... The mention of the Ents and how to get them is very useful for beginner players. To their extent they are like mercenary units such as the Avari and even gardeners. I have no idea why I love watching faction overviews for DAC this much. That being said great job on the video! I’ll definitely have to try lothlorien after I wrap up my gundabad as campaign!

can't tell you how many times i've been searching for faction overviews like this. unluckily, i don't need one for Lothlorien because I've been playing along with your videos, but it will be useful on so many other factions (i got like no idea how to play isengard for example) also, may i suggest, since you make such an in-depth overview, add "Chapters" to the video seek bar, so people can skip/return to those moments that are most important to them
Hello, my firend. What a refreshing wind you bring to us with those overview videos. Great idea you had, and with a good organisation. I liked with your showing scenes from the campaigns you already played, giving us the scripts in action and showing the results. The units were excellently presented, with a close view, so as to have their image, and their stats altogether, with you saying their pros and cons. Obviously, the units that Lorien gets from the Woodland Realm are those that fill the gaps in the Lorien roster that cover the Ranged Cavalry and the Strike Infantry categories, while the other units are almost identical between the two factions. One piece for constructive criticism, as with David Smith, is when you describe the scripts, remember to be neutral in selection, as there are advantages and disadvantages for both sides and the player needs to consider them carefully. For example, in accepting the union you get a bigger realm, with a bigger domain and better possibilities to recover from a debt situation, plus more armies to fullfil your purposes - perhaps bring reinforcements to places where you need or hit into Mirkwood from two directions, which will cripple the Orcs. I say this for other overviews, so as to stay neutral, in odrder not to influence the choice that any other players would make. I look forward to the other overviews, which I hope to continue as you might play another campaign. Have a nice time.
Amusing aside: 29:54 I couldn't help but chuckle at the tiny elven Captain tip-toeing up behind the Troll as it fought the Ents... only to get knocked flat on his back when he stabbed it dead and it fell over on top of him. Don't mind me.
Great video! I think this format is great as it sticks to the basics to give a novice player an idea of the faction. For future videos, I would have units that have a visible armor upgrade next to the basic version. Anyway, keep up the great work and content.
with the scripts, do both conditions need to be be met in time? EG if i only have 4 settlements by turn 10 but get a 5th on turn 12 will i get Enpremi? or do i need to rush 5 settlements within 10 turns?
@@Ligizd also, is there a statistical reason wardens are better at holding a line than the swords? despite having +1 defence skill? is there some code that makes spears better at defence?
@@btun324 If you put the spears in shieldwall and guardmode they can hold like beasts. Without the shieldwall the spears will hold like any other unit :)
Interesting, prefer another campaign vid, but don't we all. I think the ai is a bit broken in v5 though, not the spamming even, just weird troop movement and attack priorities.
DAC is in general stack spam. I'm playing High Elves and got Angmar reduced only to carn dum and one small village. And they still are able to get 3 almost full stacks and shitload of smaller 3-4 unit stack just crawling all over place. It's just like a god damn whack-a-mole...
yeah if I don't rush and try to fortify up, I get mega outproduced and then by turn 60-70, in come the top tier units and I give up. if I rush them, they might get auto generated stacks to prevent rushing, and then i lose instantly. its hard to know what to do. ive been trying to play dunedain and its a slog. i wish i knew how to edit to tone down the enemy production, feels so difficult to fight against

No need to rush :) you can get Enpremi at turn 30 if you take that amount of time on you
