EVERYONE predicted there'd be a Frozen world.
NO ONE predicted that Aqua would be norted.
Really Nomura? This surprised you?
Average Fan: *Sees Frozen* oh Frozen’s in kh3, that’s cool. It looks really good! Wow I’m excited to play this game from my child hood it looks great!
*sees Aqua* ...Kairi?
Updated fan: *Sees Frozen* I knew it! No way they were keeping this out! This ought to be so good! It looks just like the movie!! KH has come so far 😭😭
*Sees Aqua* NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
MY DARLING! MY WAIFU!!!! MY SUPER OMEGA BADASS GIRL!!!!! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU?!?!?!???!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
that is so true
You expected her to fight off evil nonstop 24-7, 365 days a year for 10 years?
You don't think that's a little unrealistic?
Nope, but I expect some decent foreshadowing that isn't contradicted and then contradicted a 2nd time.
Hopelessness was one of the major themes with her character from the very beginning. I'm just as surprised as Nomura that none of you realized this. It's all there in black and white. I don't see why you need it spelled out for you that her story is supposed to be a tragedy when nothing good ever happened to her
Finally sombeody said it. Aqua is basically the main character after Sora.
She always gets the short end of the stick, but is determined to move forward anyway, which is why everybody loves her so much and why... why...
WHYYY NOMURA?!
Sea Salt Ice Cream my friend... Sea Salt Ice Cream. So bitter yet... So sweet.

Omnibus4Everyone the realm of darkness did this to her not xehanort... Didn't you guys here about the option to save her?
Tell me more.
Omnibus4Everyone There's a video about it,however Im using a phone and don't have a link to it,but look it up is there a an option to save aqua.
actually, Aqua falling to the darkness is LOGICAL and probably one of the more realistic character choices in KH so far.
10 years. Anyone would falter in that long. It would be stranger for her to be completely fine.
It is logical, it's just weird that we got the reveal of that happening so soon after 0.2 when her resolve was renewed. It feels like a slap in the face and backtracks after the arc we just got from her. Also if you think about it she saw Ansem the Wise in the realm of Darkness too, which means that she probably got Norted sometime between KH2 and KH3 which is a really short amount of time. Unless they show in some flashback her struggle against Xehanort and trying not to be Norted this narrative choice will always feel like a slap in the face.
no ITS NOT LOGICAL I TAUGHT MAH GIRL TO SPAM SPELLWEAVER
Actually, the part I'm confused about is that she made it through ten years a-okay, but then, after just one more year, after her hope was restored, THATS when she just couldn't take it anymore
The Realm of Darkness has no flow of time as compared to the Realm of Light. To her, it could feel like an eternity or a few days as opposed to a decade. But generally, I agree with you.
Im suprised she didn't starve to death.
sometimes i feel like nomura just... doesn't care about aqua? like, when bbs was first released, he was surprised that aqua was so popular with the fanbase. then with the new trailer, he's gobsmacked that people are concerned about her. forget about us, nomura - are YOU okay? O_o
he does not know that otakus and aqua fans are desperate for her epic entrance
I think he wasn't aware of how many people REALLY do love Aqua. I don't think he hates her it's that he didn't expect her to get this much love from fans.
HakureiRyuu I don’t really like aqua. I been terra fan since bbs. He my favorite character.
If that were the case, then KH 0.2 and 2.8 wouldn't have existed. I think the statement you're looking for is he underestimated how much people are fans of Aqua.
Yes how all the female characters are adjacent but not entirely significant: aqua, Kairi, Zion, minnie, etc the princesses. All are there to complete a plot point but not there to be the hero (heroine for sexiest gamers). When do the females get to be the strongest most dependable characters as we are in real life!
why we cant handel evil aqua
because we all like aqua
we all wanted to save her after seeing her story.
having her tell us that we are to late after we have been forced to wait so long
is like a double stab to the heart
That's pretty much what I said.
T_T We didn't save her on time, how dare you animefanstern69 not save her! You were meant to save her while i defeated Ansem and Xemnas!!!
i know, but do you know how many worlds are in there :(
the moment i entered it was like a giant shifting maze no wonder she never got out of there Q.Q
this was to be expected since Xehanort told to Mickey about his 13 seekers and the 7 guardians, "But unfortunally for you, Sora and another one on your list belongs to me now and that leaves you 3 guardian short" = Terra, Sora and Aqua, makes sense now
“Handel” are you six years old lmao
Aqua doesnt deserve it! She's been kind and good all throughout the series. She's my favorite of all. Her story is saddening and dark but she remains strong and hopeful. Hopefully, sora and the others can save her fast at kh3!!!!
lunarrequiem Oh yeah, constantly doubting your oldest friend whose already struggling after basically being told he's not good enough by his father figure. Real kind\
Steven Higgins okay then she deserves it i guess.
... As if anyone deserves any the nonsense and madness happening as a result of Xehanort's campaign? If evil things only happened to people who deserved it, it wouldn't be evil.
That's the point. She doesn't deserve it. That's why it happens to her.
Yeah she does. Terra, Ventus and Aqua are the worst characters in the Kh universe because they are so empty and devoid of personality.
Die a hero
Or live long enough to be a villain
Or live long enough to see yourself become the villain**
U better quote my favourite movie right!!!!
ruben neto wait that was from a movie? Shit I didn’t know, i just heard it somewhere
@@xueyuki9082 lmaoo xd, its from "The Dark Knight", amazing movie u should check it out
Where does Master Eraqus fall into that?
Pretty sure he died a villain after being a hero throughout the series.
Die a hero
When I saw Aqua’s reveal, I did kinda expect this and seeing everyone’s reactions makes me laugh maniacally.
Okay, I've been telling people this for years. There is no narrative purpose to locking a character in a realm of darkness for over a decade of they walk away unchanged.
Aqua is the kind of person who dwells on her problems. She takes the weight of the world on her shoulders and blames herself when things go wrong.
This is not necessarily a bad thing. It's what makes her character compelling. It's what sets her apart from Sora.
The fall of Aqua was inevitable. Because it's where the story needs to go. Not only for her, but for Riku and for Sora.
Sora has no concept of consequences for his own actions. Because the world has always padded him with happy Disney adventures. Aqua embodies this as a cautionary tale. A person so pure and innocent, much like himself. A person who bit off way more than they could chew because they refused to see the world for what it was.
But more importantly, saving Aqua is what is going to inevitably save Riku. Riku has been lost in his own self doubt for years. He has admired his friend from afar for years. Staring in awe at Sora's unyielding, almost paladin-like, commitment to the light. He admires Sora and then hates himself for the connection to the darkness from which he draws his power. Even as he is named a Master over his friend whom he holds on such a pedestal, Riku questions the fact that he could possibly be worthy of the title as he is. He spurns himself for the very thing that makes him so special.
In Birth by Sleep, Aqua poses a question. "My master always told me that Darkness needs to be destroyed. But how if not with light?" Riku is the answer. Light and darkness exist in balance within Riku. Realizing this will inevitably save them both and make them both stronger people.
This is basic story telling. The purpose of a crucible is to break a character down so they come back stronger. Its character growth 101.
Brilliant post. Thank you.
excellent insight thank you, you make the internet a slightly better place to be
Spot On
I love you😂

KH 0.2 - Aqua is full of determination, hope, and fighting spirit
Literally her next appearance chronologically - *Aquanort*
0.2 tales placed before KH2.
Xemnas has been hunting Aqua for years, he forced the notting on her so he could get Ventus
time is completely different in the Realm of Darkness
It'll be Riku and Mickey's jobs to bring her back to the light
It kinda sucks it wasn't a twist that we found out while playing the game, but I kind of like the idea of Aqua being possessed. It shows even the strongest and purest will, can be broken. The darkness is coming back and it's stronger than ever (at least the way I see it). Raises the stakes.
Agreed.
this is a great reveal for a trailer, it motivates people and make them speculate on the story. there are a LOT of potential explanations for that shot and a lot of potential outcomes until we play the actual game. This is how you engage a fanbase.
Well kairi and mickey haven't been corrupted, Yin sed hasn't either. Aqua just weak.
Morphavolo
Harvey Dent: The Joker chose me!
Batman: Because you were the best of us! He wanted to prove that even someone as good as you could fall.
Harvey Dent: And he was right...
I like the public reveal cuz you get to hear everyone screaming & gasping in shock and absolute horror.
It's like the one time Pikachu talked and everyone in theather was like what the heck xD
I know I’m not the only that skipped ahead 10 seconds when she played let it go
you did that i just smack my forehead and repeated no until it stopped. I hear it enough at work, at least think i do i just drown it out.
Aqua didn't deserve it but this isn't unexpected. She's been down there fighting the darkness for so long. Her strength wouldn't last forever and once the norts found her, she wouldn't have the power to resist. Now they have their 13th darkness and we're still missing light warriors.
Xeahanort says even if he tries to cause an inbalance that in the end the will be 7 Keyblade wielders of light and 13 Warriors of Darkness.
True. The final battle will happen regardless but the light warriors are just a bit behind right now.
I think the last guardian will be Marluxia XD I mean think about it, he's been wanting to betray the Organization since the beginning.
Witchbell The norts weren't even worried about her, they let the realm of darkness do all the work, because it was messing with her, even with her memories, she could take down a few xehanorts but that's why they didn't go cause they would be a xehanort or more short that's why they let the realm of darkness itself, mess her up instead...she isn't a xehanort
@Dodgy Dingoz
Sorry to disappoint you, but in the Japanese version of the third trailer from the E3 we see Marluxia with Amber eyes. So yeay he's norted like Larxene and Luxord too.
You can find all the Japanese trailer simply by tiping "Kingdom Hearts 3 - E3 2018 Trailer Vol.1-3 (Japanese)" in youtube and click the first video from "KingKyuubiNaruto13". The scene with Marluxia is near the end of the video ca. by 8:35 and he says that he came to see Sora to ask for a favour.
This is what I've been saying, Aqua just regained hope there's no way she simply fell to darkness there, it didn't corrupt her in ten years and she reconnected with the light. Only way is if Xehanort some how defeated her or it's not her.
*Cough* Sora *Cough* Dream Drop Distance *Cough*
Probs Phantom Aqua or some other Ex Machina
Son Bra Ding! Ding! Ding! That is what I think too, maybe this Aqua is just a puppet
Remember that she was losing hope again when she met diz after kingdom hearts 2 a year after the events from kh1(bbs0.2). By the time kh3 rolls around it has been 13 years since she was lost to the realm of darkness. In the realm of darkness there is no time or way to tell time so she probably thought it was another decade or longer for her.
Xemnas has been looking for her since 2.8 after he found out she was in the RoD.
Narrative contradictions? Nomura? Never.
Kekistos slap some more belt on people and everything will be good

Randomly stumbling across your channel was a but of a surprise haha, Legacy of the Beast was one of my favourite fanfics back when I first started on the site
Thank you so much! I'm still working on it! Sit tight a little while longer and I'll have it done as soon as I can.
Between 2 and 3 I've had a son, graduated from college and have my own home 😂 at 25 I still have no remorse when it comes out. Finally some closure with this instalment 😂
Buffs Plz Nice. What degree you get?
Jacob Chapman mechanical engineering my friend, I'm British 😂
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 i feel ya pain .....Between 2 and 3 deployed to afghanisan and iraq.....got married...had a son and a daughter....went to 2 different colleges(didn't finish) point is nothing will change my mind to not play this game. Im gonna play it. 12 years smh
That's assuming Kingdom Hearts 3 will have any closure. We should know by now that There's probably won't be closure. Whatever ending we get will just be another hint to another game or spinoff.
StealthBlade98 they said it was meant to end this storyline but I'll leave it at that. Once there is done I'm out 😂
Not to mention that after 0.2 made her look like she will never lose, and then we were hit by this truck. All that hype & hope was crushed
Bulba Saur I'm honestly starting to wonder whether or not 0.2 was canon.
It only made mickey's Keyblade more confusing and now aqua's part is basically pointless now that she's norted.
0.2 didn't make it look she'll never lose lol. She mentioned multiple times that the darkness is starting make her resolve waver and when she gets grabbed by the Darkside, she basically gives up. If it wasn't for Mickey who appeared when he did, she would have given up completely. If anything, 0.2 showed her struggle with being in the dark realm.
gamerprince1999
Yeah,i agree with you
a year is a long time and easily understandable for her to give up.
The story of Aqua, Terra, and Aqua makes me cry. Every freaking time.
They don't deserve it.
This is such a good informative video!!! Keep making these videos these are so helpful!
Mike Murphy I agree. Most people go off on a tangent because the story is so complex that I end up confused sometimes. This video was really great tho
Roses are red, Rescue Mission Aborted
Please say it isn't true! Aqua got nort-ed
Mickspad you good commenter, earned a like.
Mission failed, we'll getm next time
This was an excellently crafted video! I'd definitely love more content like this in the future if you have the time.
After initially seeing that trailer, my first reaction was: "that's impossible, that makes absolutely *no* sense!"
As you said in the video, during the ending of 0.2 Aqua was at the peek of her determination/will power since she first entered the realm of darkness. Not only did she have renewed hope, but she also gave herself a purpose and reason to fight. In fact, in the original Japanese dialogue she actually ends that 0.2 ending scene saying "There's no need to worry" rather than "and that's a promise" in the English dub. Furthermore, it was made clear through Phantom Aqua's dialogue that a majority of Aqua's doubts were concerning whether or not anyone could, or even wanted to save her, as well as her feelings of loneliness. These doubts were put to rest by the end of 0.2, and by the time blank points came around she even had a companion in the form of Ansem the Wise, who further renewed her hope when he revealed that Sora was continuing to protect the Realm of Light in her absence.
So with all of that considered, why was it such a surprise to Nomura that fans reacted the way they did? Proper foreshadowing doesn't allow itself to become invalidated multiple times before the revelation it's supposed to be hinting towards actually comes to pass. Re-contextualization (and I'm referring to what Master Xehanort said to Mickey at the end of DDD) is also not the proper form of foreshadowing for an event you intend your audience to pick up on at an earlier point in the story, especially not when every other form of foreshadowing you used was invalidated anyway.
Another good example of this is Xemnas' line toward the end of Dream Drop Distance. He specifically states (and I'm paraphrasing for the sake of clarity) that any previous organization members who lacked physical fortitude, willpower, or trust were deemed inadequate to be part of the new Organization. He says this despite the fact that we now know both Marluxia and Larxene (the two biggest traitors in the organization) were already members during that time, and neither were shown to be particularly strong, both physically and in willpower (at least not compared to any other Organization members, like Xaldin or Lexeus for example). It's also difficult to imagine they would retcon such a scene considering that it contains the whole reason they went after Sora to begin with (something that took them an entire game to get anywhere close to accomplishing, showing how desperate they were, and they *still* failed). This also brings a HUGE list of questions when concerning Xemnas' thought process back when he was still in charge of the original organization (ex. If these factors were so unimportant, why did he wait so long to turn the original members into vessels like he did to Xigbar or *Siax* at the very least? Why did he attempt to create his own Kingdom Hearts in the first place? Why lie to the organization about whether or not they had hearts if that also wasn't even a factor to begin with? etc.)
*Edit:* And for those of you who like to think that Vanitas' line about Aqua being a "back up," was in *any* way proper foreshadowing, you are very much incorrect. Later on in Aqua's own story, Vanitas himself takes back what he said about her, shows his intention to kill her, and compares her to a childhood toy he's long since outgrown all within one scene (just before his neverland boss fight). This, and the fact that Xehanort literally tells Vanitas to "take Aqua's life" (and once again attempts this with no hesitation) right in front of Ventus, completely invalidates this line of thinking. If Nomura was really trying to hint at this suprise revelation (which I doubt since he said KH3 was little more than a thought back then), then it falls in line with everything I've said. *-End of edit*
So in summary, it's just a case of poor execution and lack of proper foreshadowing. I'd imagine since, from Nomura's perspective, this revelation wasn't anything to be surprised by, there was a disconnect between the writer and the audience. He had it in his mind for so long that it always felt natural for him, but he didn't go back to make sure that it felt natural for us.
Thank you so much for your elongated comment! I totally agree with everything you said. :)
As for more videos like this, this was sort of a test to see if my audience would be interested in analytical/talking points videos since this news was topical and my childhood is highly invested in this series. Just today, the view count has risen several hundred percent, and I'm glad to see people are enjoying it. I will definitely put more of my attention towards drafts of these sorts of videos that I had stopped working on in the past.
No problem! :) I personally enjoy clean and effective explanation/discussion videos like this, especially when I'm invested in the topics they discuss whether it be video games or real life. You also seem to be very polite and open about your thoughts and feelings, which is a rare quality now a days. You've earned a subscriber! But please don't feel pressured into making more videos like this consistently if you don't want to. After all, your channel should be about your enjoyment first. =)
As a writer, it can be incredibly difficult to reveal the hand like this to an audience, Nomura's had this story in his mind for ages, and when he finally reveals it, the foreshadowing of Aqua's emotional struggle is lost on the audience. In my own writing, my stories blindsided my readers with twists, I had to elaborate to the point of drawing it out to smooth out my stories.
I am also a writer, and when I foreshadow something I don't contradict all the effort of doing so just to confuse the audience with what I was originally foreshadowing. Nomura gave us a hint, took it back then said "nevermind, do it anyway".
Thanks for the recap, definitely needed it
People freaking out because they want to know there’s light at the end of Aqua’s story.
Aqua, entrusted to protect all the different worlds as a Key Blade Master, loses her Master Erauqs; witness her friend, Terra, become darkness itself; had to sealed her comatose and shattered-heart friend, Ventus, in the Chambers of Awakening; sacrifices herself in order to save her possessed friend from being trapped in the Realm of Darkness; and vow to continue to fight the darkness because she felt the presence of the glimpse of light (Sora) that will save them all.
Then we get this news! We are shown that the Keyblade Master, who’s determination to save her friends and worlds, loses all hope and succumbed to the enemy she’s been fighting. This is not the Aqua we knew from the end of BBS. In the end it was her resolution to keep on fighting no matter what because she’s see that there is hope.
Hell seeing Aqua succumbed to the darkness just got me hyped even more for KH3.
DCOTT PLAYZ
Now I’m curious as to Terra’s fate. Could he be... dead?
Austin Reed I doubt it. Terra's a tough SOB. Plus I think after Xemnas got canned supposedly his and Terra's hearts should have been sent to their original bodies. Thats just a thought, dont kill the messenger.
Technically it’s Mickeys Fault for not telling anyone. Yes I understand he wanted to respect her wishes but i’m sure Aqua didn’t want her wishes to go as far as staying in the darkness forever and alone. Let’s be honest if it was Minnie up in there you think her would respect her wishes?!!!
Bigbrother Dante I think Yen Sid had also forbade Mickey from speaking about it even if he wanted to.
D'Andre Brown. But why would Yen Sid forbid Mickey from speaking about it, unless it was because he somehow got in contact with Aqua or his senses were telling him that if Mickey spoke about this too soon, it might distract Sora and the gang from their main mission which had to be accomplished first in defeating Xehanort's heartless and Nobody. But it's also making me wish that if only Aqua didn't make Mickey keep promises that he wouldn't have been able to keep forever if it meant going back to save her, whether she wanted to or not.
Disneyfan82 He told us why, because Sora would have gone and gotten himself killed trying to save her without without a plan.
Steven Higgins. I must have missed that in one of the games somewhere, which is why I'm going to play all of them in order right before the third game comes out. I haven't played Coded or Dream Drop Distance yet, but now that they are re-released for PS4, it won't be a problem.
I still fear for Aqua's heart and soul, hoping that what I saw is some kind of trick from the Heartless or something.
Even then, it still feels lazy for not even trying. Plus, Ansem once got out of the realm of darkness on his own before.
Everything you just said was dead on. I mean come on. If you want to surprise the fans of a new disney addition, maybe not throw in a plot twist that powerful with it.
Wtf this is such a good synopsis. GJ!
Thank you!
You have a genuine talent for it. it also helps that the tone you take in you voice shows elements of focus and concern for the subject. its a good formula.
If there is eventually a scene of her emerging into the realm of light as she was, I want real emotion for that scene. It better not just be a plot point that goes by. There needs to be tears, good music and just overall happiness. If we don’t actually get to SEE Aqua be freed from darkness, I will rage.
This was really well made aqua is one of my fav just subed hope to see more
Thank you!
N I C K E E M, I love your profile pic!
You should definitely upload more kingdom hearts videos! Especially that series where you explain important plot points in the previous KH games.
Thank you for this channel
You're welcome. :)
Hey I really liked this type of discussion video. Your thoughts were well put together and it literally explained it perfectly. I didn’t know that was even the case until you said it. I’d love to see more videos like this.
Thank you! I'm trying to come up with more things to talk about. :)
Zivalene I know you covered this in your video a little bit, but maybe you could talk about how changes how we thought kh3 would turn out.
Don’t know anything about kingdom hearts, but great video 👍
I am in the exact same position as you bud.
Welcome to the family! Try to play as many games before KH3. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Even we don’t have all the answers!!
The ps3 has 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 which are basically bundles of a lot of the KH games May the Kingdom Hearts be with you & be your guiding force 💖💖💖💖 💖
Neptune Heart ps3 has 2.8?
JoeySTRIKE Yeah ikr it's awesome (*^▽^*)
Love the video! and KH. Great job
Thank you!!
I haven't seen the trailer yet, because I wanted to go in blind. I couldn't pass up this video though. That...that is shocking, I would have never expected that aqua would have been consumed by darkness! I'm glad I found this channel! This was an excellent review, and very easy to understand, as well as a nice recap on Aqua's storyline.
Thank you!
Call me an optimist, but perhaps what we know now does not mean Aqua is an antagonist. The golden-yellowish eyes and white hair might be a sign of Xenahort possesion - but mind you, whe Terra became possessed, his voice changed as well, and Aqua still has hers. And to be fair, we still do not know all that much about Darkness influence on people. PErhaps the hair and eye colour is not as much a sign of Xenahort possesion, but more of a side effect of deeper connection to Darkness, trait that Xenahort forced on others drenching their hearts in it. Aqua might be still herself, but her heart might simply become dark, due to her extremely long exposure to Realm of Darkness.
And that fact itself does not mean shes an antagonist now. Darkness is definetly a negative force, yes, but not one ouright evil. Good people used it as well, such as riku in KHII, King Mickey, by wielding Kingdom Key D, or both Sora and Riku utilizing Dream Eaters. Perhaps Aqua did not turn evil, but by being stranded alon in the Realm of Darkness was forced to take hard, impossible decisions - like choosing the power she hated so much, because she needed that strength to survive and continue her self-given mission. We don't know what she had to go through in there, so perhaps "Oh no, she's evil now" might be simply too fast judgemnt.
But again - I'm an iredeemable optimist. This might be just my wishful thinking.
Xigbar still has his own voice too, you know, and he's about as far down the line to being Xehanort as Aqua is.
Drakhesh I am less of an optimist but I am hopeful that aqua isn’t possessed because xehanort eyes tend to be more orange tinted yellow but again I am not optimistic but very hopeful
Nomura already confirmed that it's a sure sign of being turned into a Xehanort.
Proof? Being turned also grants tan skin and pointy ears. Aqua has neither. Also notice that Ansem (the real one) was bot norted and gained these traits
Aqua's skin actually *is* darker. And Xigbar, who is already half Xehanort, only has the gold eyes, no darker skin, and no silver hair. Also, Ansem the wise did that with his OWN POWER. Not because of influence from the darkness.
i just realize something that Aqua got influence by Xehanort, back in DDD Xemnas told this words to Sora: "As your flesh bears the sigil, so your name shall be known as that...of a recusant." The 3 characters have a sigil on their chest, Xehanort can find them, except Ventus since he is safe at the chamber of awaken, Vanitas have the oportunity to try to manipulate Ven's body but since his heart is on Sora's that why their trackin Sora, Aqua sigil was pink, in the trailer now its black....kinda make sense
Your right about trying to explain the story lol, really enjoyed the video! You earned a sub
Really clear and concise explanations. You've gained a sub!
This was really helpful, thanks!
My pleasure!
seems like you´re good at explaining stuff, i would like to see more KDH stuff made by you.
Thank you! Will have more soon.
Great vid. I can’t believe it’s been this long for the conclusion.
thank you!!!
this is exactly what i was thinking when i saw that trailer, just thank you!
Amber eyes are NOT signs of possession. They are markers of traveling through the dark realm. That's why DiZ (Ansem) had them, too.
You mean he had them BEFORE he even went to the Realm of Darkness. He's had brownish/yellow eyes the whole time we've known him.
Zivalene We have never encountered Ansem the Wise before the realm of darkness. Even the events in the Blank Points scene of BBS was contemporary with Ansem's experimentation with the darkness. The amber and golden eyes signify an affinity for darkness, not necessarily Xehanort possession.
We have not experienced an Ansem the Wise prior to darkness. Unless you know something I don't. :/
Yes we have. We meet him in the Realm of Darkness after the events of kh2. You see him in person before that, in flashbacks FAR before that, and in Birth by Sleep even FURTHER before that. His eyes never changed.
Wrong. Its a sign of xehanort not darkness
You have amazing commentary!! Im subscribing now!!
Thank you!!
Really enjoyed this video and hope this continues into a series
Loved the video, all the feels came flooding back and I wasn't expecting it xD poor Aqua
Tbh ive played practically every kingdom hearts minus all the remixes and still have no clue what in the hell the time line is.
Union X, Birth By Sleep, KH 1, Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, KH 2, Re: Coded, Dream Drop Distance, Fragmentary Passage, KH 3
No I didn't. Lol
isn't fragmentary passage during KH1?
Yes. But if you want to play them in proper order, you would play it at the end because it's a story being told just before KH3.
What was Union X? I don't remember that game and what platform was that on?
Yeah I agree with this one hundred percent. Like Sora, her heart was very strong and she showed a true powerful strength in the face of darkness and what I don't understand is, how after 9 years she manages to hold her own by herself in the darkness and even after gaining new found strength and determination, in just a year she loses all of it. What could have happened in that single year compared to her previous 9 that made her lose so much faith even after getting a boost of determination?
Especially since her last appearance before that was her meeting with Ansem the Wise.
Yeah, I'm curious to see how all of it fits together.
Xemnas finally found her.
A year in the realm of light =/= a year in the realm of darkness
Thank you for this video and all the work you have done up to this point. I have been a fan of kingdom hearts since I was a kid, always loving the magical journey and the characters that came with those beloved memories. Hopefully within the third main entry, we get to purge the darkness from Aqua to save the trio.
Great Video!
She went straight down to the dark, and she got plucked right out; her eyes wide open, full of darkness. the days of Master Aqua are long gone, welcome back... Dark Venom Aqua.
MasterJunior93 lol, venom might not. Aquanort.
You're a terrible writer lol
Dodgy Dingoz I had no reason to be a good writer. So, I decided not to put in the effort.
I'm not saying what you said isn't funny. I'm just saying you shouldn't write is all!
Aquatic snake?
Good Review of Aqua Storyline. Do a breakdown of the KH series before KH3 comes out your review is easy to follow. It's all about Aqua. Yeahhhhhh. She's Main MC and Riku too. lol. I wish we could play Noct-Riku and Kairi and of course Aqua too, not just Sora.
Storywise, this is the final game of the series, it will be greatly disappointing not being able to play as Riku, Kairi, Lea, Sora, and those of the older generation if they ever arise again. I agree with you. Just plain old Sora gameplay, does not cut it.
Bigjim3D it is not the final game in the series just the final game in the seeker saga kingdom hearts will have more games after 3
Yes I should scratch that from my comment. I have gone through nomura's speeches and I have learned about it. Cheers!
technically Sora, Riku, Kairi, Terra, Aqua, Ven, and Mickey are all important enough to the story to be main characters. Sora and Aqua are just the most important lol.
Shadow Hunter anyone know whether or not we’re just going as sora??? In dream drop distance they let us play as riku with the drop action which btw was pretty cool
Awesome video!
Great video! Thanks!
awesome video, very informative... and sad! i want aqua to be safe
"the game that's highly been anticipated for 13 years"
Nomura.... you planned this didn't you? since 13 is a theme for this game huh?
Oh the way you explained everything in this video is gold. I played most all of the games but putting all of it into short simple sentences like you do is really impressive.
Thank you. It was kinda difficult. Lol
Great video I'm amazed how well compiled you guys got it (assuming this wasn't made by just one person) I hesitated to watch because the emoji but I'm glad I did
Nope, just one girl in her free time. Lol Thank you though. :)
Just imagine the Lingering Will seeing Xeanhort-Aqua...
Why did your had to make me think of that???
I'll be 36 in October and I'm excited for KH3! I've waited so long!
This was really well done. Crazy thing is I played through birth by sleep and lost the disc before I could finish aquas ending (which is super tragic I know). But this was a great video to use as a refresher for thier story lines. Awesome job and keep it up.
The way you talk through the video is like having someone read a book for me. I love that, and would like to see more! and there's a sub for ya :D
I remember getting Kingdom Hearts II when I was a kid, I fell in love with it and became hooked, andhave been collecting the games ever since. I'm so hyped for this game and I'm so glad they're expanding on the worlds. My jaw hit the floor at the Aqua reveal, I wonder how this will play out?
I feel like playing Birth By Sleep now.
I been a fan sense kh 1 when it first came out huge fan over here too I can’t wait for kh3
I’m a long time fan of kingdom hearts, since I was a child. I am now 23 years old. I just want to thank you for doing an excellent job at articulating the coming events that are to transpire in part three. Good job, keep us updated.
One sky, one destiny
X
great video!!!
When you played “Let it Go”, you were spot on with my reaction XD
I mean it was a while after she made that final vow so lots of things can happen
Thank you so much for this informative video! Really helped me catch up with all the storyline/context lol. Going to check out your KH recap series, esp since KH3 is confirmed to release next month :D :D
You have a great voice. It's very pleasant to listen to you talk about Kingdom Hearts!
Thank you. :)
As it was said, Aqua is like the main character after Sora, how even after everything is against her, she just keeps looking forward and keep going no matter what, even after 10 years of being unable to escape from the world of darkness, she was still with hope. That's why we all couldn't handle seen Aqua finally consumed by darkness. The worst thing, is that she could have been saved TWICE.
Yen Sid this is your fault.
I mean at least old man Nort is up front about it. Its how he's always been, its to be expected. Balance is a necessity after all. Yen Sid however is suppose to be on the lights side and a retired keyblade master who trained mickey, for him not to even bother trying anything at all is a huge middle finger not only to his own apprentice but to everyone who has a connection to Aqua.
Where are you terra! Why does no one talk about terra! I just want him back. They better not kill him off. He my fav character 😔
Because we already know his body was split up into Ansem and Xemnas.
According to the closed captioned trailer, it looks like we might get him back. Terranort was fighting against Terra’s lingering will
Gamer Gal25 yea when I saw that I started trippn! 😱😱
This is the best explanation of the games story. I haven’t understood it 100% until watching this haha
wow this video really blew up, all her other videos has less than 100 views, but this one has over 150k now.
Took me by surprise too. I suddenly almost doubled my subscriber count.
subbed, and cant wait till you do a Kingdom hearts explained series. I personally am very fuzzy regarding the KH 358/2 timeline. since i never played the game and what happend to Braig, Dilan, Even, Aeleus, Ienzo and the other org 13 members lost their hearts.
Your work is good. You can certainly reach for more. Keep it up!
Pls make this a series
I will! Just trying to decide what to talk about next! :)
I was 6 when I played the original kingdom hearts, I'm 19 now. This makes me feel old
I'm 23. I literally got old waiting for this game.
and im 28
I played all the kingdom hearts i have both the remastered version for the ps3 and ps4 plus i played 1 and 2 for the ps2 im 37 years old and im effin hyped for this game i cant wait to see how this story is going to end 😀😀😃😃
yeah, i played KH1 when it came out when i was in 9th grade....
that just describes how old i am...
darknessissafe i was 21 when i first finished kingdom hearts. I am still 21 and have finished every single game in the series.
Awesome Video!!!!!!!!!!
I (almost) broke down because it felt like seeing a friend that had tried to help me and keep me safe failing to something I should have saved her from pay for my inaction. My failure and my pain and seeing that look on her face as she said it, "You're too late." hit the hardest.
Aqua is a Xehanort. Orange eyes are what you get from 'falling to darkness.'
This video helped me understand more of Aqua since I've been wanted to play Birth by sleep for a long time so Thankyou great video, if you're making more videos like this explain the connexion between I thinks its Namine and Aqua I know there's a connexion if not correct me please also I've been a huge fan KH since I played KH 358/2 so yeah I love KH's music 😍😍
Not much of a connection between Namine and Aqua, only that Aqua gave Kairi her Keyblade and Namine is Kairi's Nobody.
Thanks for the answer I didn't know that aqua gave her keyblade to Kairi so basically Terra did the same with Riku and Ventus with Sora?
Thanks for explaining this to me I have never played a kingdom hearts game and was very confused by the reaction.
Subcribing !!! Your amazing ! 😭
aqua's story is gutwrenching, and this reveal made it soul crushing.
Actually the one who used the keyblade on that scene was Xehanort in a desperate attempt of riding himself from Terra. It's stated on tge records of the game on the Trinity Archives section.
My heart literally sank when I saw the thumbnail.
I can't believe this omg. But I can definitely relate to what you mentioned in the intro; bout how we were all just kids and now adults hyped for KH3. Hell I still remember the times I played on my PS2 when I was still in primary school and things were a lot simpler. Now I'm a working adult, and shocked asf to know what happened to Aqua
Awesome explanation
From all characters from kh Aqua is my favorite character. I love her so much. It would break my heart if it would be impossible to save her.
I mean aqua is a very well written character for the most part. When you make great characters; you will have a happy fanbase.
I can't wait for the reveal on how it happen. I keep thinking about the 'blank points' and the conversation between Aqua and the real Ansem. Since it is believed to be after the overload from his machine in KH2, Aqua change would have happen fairly recently in regards to the timeline.
You played the song and my body half convulsed half shivered💀
Should also be noted that a Frozen world has been leaked/heavily rumored so it wasn't too surprising. I was happy to see it but it was mostly just like "Oh cool, Frozen" (heh heh)
Ragiroth Enterprises Even without the leaks/rumors everyone and their mother predicted Frozen would be a world in KH3 just because of how insanely popular it is in the U.S. and Japan.
losnf jslefn Well yeah that to lol
It wasn't leaked, it was confirmed.
Maybe you can do the residents of Sora’s Heart next?
Ooh! Good idea!
Thats a long list
Isn't it only 3 (in Kingdom hearts 1) and currently 2 (including Sora himself)?
The thought of one day seeing your friends again fills you with determination
It was the first game I ever played on ps2 I bought it together with my ps2 back then and then kingdom hearts 2 came around and I fell in love even more. And now more than a decade later the next "big" entry comes and I'm so hyped I don't even have words to express it. This isthe first game I pre-ordered since 4 years and I hope that it's worth it that it takes me back in the world I loved so much as a child
I got a PS2 just So I could play Kingdom Hearts
dragonAgeAnimeFriends :* you could of just gotten the remastered version on the ps3 or better on the ps4 version that has all the games in the series so far.
dragonAgeAnimeFriends :* got some 4 the same reason why^^
Pretty sure he meant sixteen years ago.
Sonicaed201220 I the Remastered as well. I play xbox these days so currently I just have just been collecting them Until my friend let's me borrow her Ps4.(and by borrow I mean let's me play while she's here)
Anyone doubt its really aqua? I mean come in could be a doppelganger.
I thinking it is too. Its realy wierd that her clothes ar kinfa forming if you pay atentiion
It's not, Riku and Mickey had on gear that protects them the darkness's tricks
Oh! Maybe. You do fight mirror-Aqua a bunch of times in 0.2. It could be that spending so long In the darkness made her doppelganger more ... "Lasting", the way Ventus and Vanitas exist simultaneously, or how Anti-Sora keeps cropping up to haunt Sora and Roxas
U deserve more subscribers 😭
Wow I thought Kingdom Hearts was just one game and wasnt interesting. Now I see it all and I thank you for making this video. Guess I got a lot to catch up on. 👍 new subscriber for u 👏
