today my dog passed away after over 6 and a half years with us. suddenly I remembered the lyrics of the chorus "I promise we will definitely meet again" and now I came to listen to the song. it feels like he's talking to me, asking me not to forget him and saying he'll watch me from over the sky. thank you DC for bringing me comfort.

Now I think this is a form of promise between Dreamcatcher and insomnias. When they fly, when they finally reach the top, somnias promise that we will still be there. Dreamcatcher promise that when they fly, they will still be the same Deukae we loved since the beginning
Ironic, then, that they've performed this song less frequently as time goes on. They used to end every concert with this song; it's since been displaced by newer songs like New Days.
@@plasmakitten4261 well considering they make more and more new music that they have to perform, I think that makes perfect sense. They can't perform the same songs forever, but that doesn't diminish the meaning and care they put into this song for us. That doesn't change the fact that they do love their fans.
@@kategomez2902 I get that but for this specific song I think not performing it undermines its message. I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it if not for the biggest and pretty much only problem with the fandom right now where such a huge number of insomnias joined since Scream era that they've overwhelmed the veterans in terms of setting fandom discourse, and inherently don't have the same connection with the content from 2017-19 that older fans do, which makes it very difficult for me to find anyone to discuss any old Deukae content with. It's a problem you inevitably face when you have a sudden large increase in fandom size. Now, other groups have this happen a lot, but the often times the increase in fandom size actually corresponds with an increase in musical quality. Take BTS for example; while I would never say their content in 2013-14 before they got popular was bad, they most definitely upstaged their past selves year in and year out as the fandom grew, which meant it didn't feel as awkward to have people that only know the recent content, because the recent content is worth it. But Dreamcatcher's growth in popularity has been so unfairly delayed for so long they they released some unbelievably strong content already. I don't want to say that they've peaked musically, because that's obviously wrong. But I don't think they've done significantly better in 2020-21 than they did before, and my personal preference for their rock sound has been kind of starved recently, so the top list of my favorite Deukae content still has tons of songs from before the fandom growth (it doesn't help that my favorite of their 2020-21 songs is the Japanese Endless Night). This leaves me pretty much alone in a lot of my favorite ways to experience Dreamcatcher. It also doesn't help that a lot of newer fans haven't experienced the same emotional journey, because they didn't have to experience the realization of the Deja Vu rigging at the time it happened and they didn't have to experience it after years of waiting and emotional investment. There's also the Deukae storyline that ended in 2019, which is probably never going to be solved despite probably not being too hard to solve because none of the new fans know or care about it... Etc etc the point is, a lot of the things that I care about with regard to Deukae are things that, thanks to huge fandom growth, I no longer share with the vast majority of insomnias, and feeling alienation from what used to be an extremely tight-knit fandom kind of hurts. This song is a symptom of that; for most insomnias, the emotional impact just isn't the same. So the fact that they don't perform it anymore stings, because it's a reminder that a lot of the Deukae content I love the most is being forgotten by the fandom at large, which just... really hurts. And the worse part is that it's a consequence of everything I wanted for Dreamcatcher! Victory, but at what cost... Sorry about this wall of text, but Somnias are probably the only people on the internet I would trust with an emotional rant like this. If you actually read this far thank you very much 💜💜💜

I feel they've changed a lot from last time, and the rise in popularity came a bit quickly, even for me. I hope they'll perform this song more during their upcoming world tour(s)! It would be nice :)
@@valerielim9373 Europe got it but the US didnt lol. Maybe we'll see it on the next US tour but it seems even less likely now that Reason exists.
That said, I can't complain about the US setlists too much, because we DID get the other 2/3 of the classic encore with Wake Up and Mayday, just with New Days instead of Over The Sky. Europe didnt get those. We also got some extremely hype songs like Silent Night in the main setlist, and they even performed Piri at the specific show I went to, where normally the only pre-Deja Vu titles are You & I thanks to its iconic status and Chase Me. Other than Over The Sky the only song I would have really wanted to see is Good Night, because that song got me into Deukae and is still one of my favs, but I recognize that 99+% of Somnias are newer than that lol... but even that's a symptom of what I was talking about in my earlier comment. New fans may be aware of the "welcome to the dream world" tagline (because its impossible to join the fandom without people telling you that repeatedly lol) but they dont know which song it comes from!
Reasos why I stan dreamcatcher
1. They are unique in their own ways (they aren't like any typical kpop girl group)
2. Their choreographies are no joke. Really
3. They don't have bad song
4. They are dorks
5. Amazing vocals and rappers
6. They have the best outfits in any comeback stages i swear
7. They are beautiful
8. Their music vides are priceless
9. Another side of kpop that needs to be known
10. They love their fans, they keep them updated.

Thats what we want on kpop industry right now. No offense to other kpop groups or the kpop companies but they rather raise or stand those groups who are good in looks than good in skills or talents. They also choose those trainees who are good looking than talent which is unfair and discriminate (why) because they care the outer beauty of the person not the inside.
I wish *Dreamcatcher* (not only them but other underrated group especially trainees who are related on this) that they will gain popularity and attention on them especially to knetz who are still crave k beauty standards not k talent standards. 😁😁😁😁😁

Polaris is a fan song in my mind although it isn't officially because it directly addresses Somnias and shows empathy for the struggle of being a small fandom without a huge amount of success. But it's also kind of prophetic since it was made before the Deja Vu rigging and that's what really gave the fandom the sense of collective trauma we seem to have now

@@blabblahblah2283 I started with Wind Blows and No More, it took me a week to come to terms that I like a K-Pop group. It's actually the K-Pop fandom that was scaring me off though, and once I moved past those first 2 songs I was immediately hooked.
Of course everyone has a different taste in music, but I'd probably start off with one of these to get my friends who aren't into the subculture to listen to the music:
Full Moon, Sleep-walking, Mayday, Tension, Can't Get You Out Of My Mind, SAHARA, Break the Wall, Fly High, PIRI or Scream.
Keep in mind which genre each of these songs are (it's not JUST K-Pop, each one has secondary or tertiary genres as well) and what kind of music your friends like. I can't imagine not finding something you're into with a group this diverse in their styles.
Last resort, maybe try Love Shake. It's a cover of a song from their predecessor group, Dalshabet, from Happyface Entertainment when they debuted as MINX, but it's still 5 of the current 7 members and just pure bubblegum pop.

I just started following Dreamcatcher, and omg I wish I had started sooner.. they are so amazing. I spent yesterday watching guides, and all their MVs. I really think they’ve become one of my favorite groups almost overnight.. They are so talented and so lovable!!! And their unique style is mind-blowing. I think a commenter on one of their cover videos said it best, “Dreamcatcher can do anyone’s style, but no one else can do Dreamcatcher’s style.”
I just love them. I haven’t felt this strongly about a group in a very long time! (Since I first listened to kpop in 2011 !!)
