- Students at James Madison High School in New York City were forced to switch to remote learning after city officials relocated 2,000 illegal immigrants to the school's gym. Back when I was in school, school was canceled because of blizzards of snow - not illegal immigration.

This is insane. I feel like a second class citizen in my own country. We already have veterans and other individuals that are homeless and need assistance. This is very sad.
This is embarrassing but for over 3 years now I couldn't afford to fix my teeth. I have missing teeth now because I couldn't afford to get the crowns redone or the root canals and other issues. Long story short it was either get my teeth fixed or pay for the high cost of living and I'm not eligible for Medicaid. But yet these illegal immigrants if they have problems with their teeth. I bet you. They're getting all kinds of health care too. How can they take care of illegal people but not their own citizens first? It's a slap in the face and worse

This has been happening in Toronto for a while and only recently are people finally getting upset. The mayor asked us to let them live with us also… the average cost for a house in Toronto is a million dollars. Adults earning 100k have to still live with their parents yet now we need to worry about migrants that the government brings in with no plan….

Their lodging was tents and they were moved to prevent possible drowning due to oncoming storm. If they are documented migrants they get the bare minimum, only what they need. The benefits are not not automatic, hard to get and may take years. If undocumented it's even harder

Growing up in NYC and Brooklyn I loved every minute. I left in 2015 and moved to a real Republican city in NC. My city is now becoming a distant memory to me because of shit like this. 😢

2 years ago we were forced to move from our home of almost 10 years so it could house foreign workers. We rented the home from the company my husband worked for. We were in excellent standing on the rent and upkeep. They had my husband measure the floors for new carpet. We were excited about that. But then they suddenly gave us 1 month to be moved out just before Christmas. They wanted to house more foreign workers of which get free housing and food and medical plus they get paid well. They had no consideration nor care for our well-being. My husband was a "valued employee". No problems what so ever. Missouri

This really got to me. Coming from NYC and knowing that the student’s education was hurt from 19. This should be taken seriously. The fact that it’s not, is a shame. It took this situation for even my mom at 77 years old, to now understand why I left the state 10yrs ago. Glad I left when I did.
Once Im done with my degree I’ll leave too, they refuse to help the homeless, drug addicts, and veterans but they go full throttle when millions of free democrat votes come in.

Stop voting Democrat would be step 1. Deporting all the illegals and building a wall would be step 2. Implement strict immigration policies would be step 3. Have tough laws which punish those found guilty of entering the country illegally would be step 4 such as spending years in a maximum security prison.
Same in the UK, Ireland, and all western countries, and it's appalling that our own people and veterans are still homeless, and the elderly and poor have to choose between food or heat!

I live in Western NY where we don't have a lot of illegals living in our hotels for free, we're housing our own American citizens in the hotels because there is no where else to house the homeless on social security. I get to pay for their stay, breakfast, cable, heat, food, taxi cab rides to the DSS and back. Life long NYS resident. I'm leaving! As soon as my house is sold, I'm gone! My vote doesn't matter in this state, and the ppl that want to make money have all left because they're tired of paying for everything for everyone else! Hell, the price of petrol was .65¢ more expensive in my county compared to the Dem ran counties that surround it with Rochester and Buffalo in them at Christmas! 30 miles away, .65¢ a gallon is huge. I'm sick of it. The only consolation is that gas wasn't as high in NY as it is in California, where they want electric cars for all, but don't produce a single bit of electricity in their own state!

When I was a kid, new york city was THE city, the greatest city on earth, it was in all the movies and tv shows and cartoons, from Ghostbusters to Gremlins 2 to Spiderman to Eddie Murphy films to the comic books, all over, and even when in those productions it had bad elements, you were still meant to love it for its character.
The reality is so clear now, New York is a leftoid city, degrading lower and lover beyond every passing decade, and I can't even pretend it be a place I'd aspire to come visit.

I'm from Rochester, NY... we ALWAYS had to go to school, snow or not. I think in my entire school career, we might have had 5 snow days total.
I'm in the south. In my city we are at 40% and we have a public elementary school taught in Spanish now.
