  • We take our landcruiser 4WD to Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia; via the Micat ferry that departs from the Port of Brisbane. We lowered the tyre pressure, and engaged 4WD so we could drive on the beach sand without getting bogged. Our original plan was to go camping, but a trough of low pressure created a rain event. We were able to arrange a room in the Tangalooma resort which was fantastic, Two days later we moved to a Villa at Tangalooma resort. Tangalooma resort has cafes, restaurants, and a bar - the landscaping around the resort is amazing. We were fortunate to participate in the Wild Dolphin Feeding experience at Tangalooma. We waited in line with hundreds of tourists and were guided in hand feeding Rani a male dolphin. At the pier we were lucky to see the feeding of many Pied Cormorants and a rescue cormorant. Later we went on a guided snorkelling tour of the Tangalooma Wrecks and saw many fish. We swam in the crystal clear waters of the beach. We boarded the Micat ferry from the beach and pumped our tyres to normal pressure.

Great Video Christine & Tim. How was the parking at the resort? Thinking of towing the jet ski over just worried if there was enough room and suitable parking for a trailer.
    Thank You.

Yes there is a decent car park at the Northern end. Believe we saw someone also park a trailer there.
      Hope you enjoy the trip
      All the best
