- Enjoy our new video - Codex Wallerstein longsword section practice. We had some fun and managed to shoot everything before a heavy storm arrived.
The tricks go in a sequential order as presented in the manual. There are some minor variations to each technique; we try to show how we practice the Wallerstein pieces more or less standardly within BSS.
We omitted two passages since they're basically the same as 2 other tricks in the book which we also show. Sorry for the shaky camera at the end.
Yes, it's always possible to show it better/faster/stronger.

We're using Allstar masks with Allstar masks (AMI-FM) with Allstar back of the head protector (MSP-SK). Similar protection can be also bought from SPES - histfenc.com. All the best

Loved the video and the Dog. All very well done, though again for me far too linear. I would do almost all of them different. I will be doing a video session in the next few months, when my schedual clears, and so you can see what way I would approach all of it. This was 4 years ago so I suppose you would do them differently nowadays anyway. Keep up the good work.
For me it will be more side steps i think that is better then just going forward into your opponent.
There's very little in the actual text about footwork. I think the main concern should be to try and stay as faithful to what is more or less clear in the text. This video show that you can do the actions with mostly linear movement entering into the preferred measure/position. Videos from other people have shown that they can work well with offline/flanking movement as the entry. Maybe it's the difference in sword length or maybe it's the difference in physical strength of the people in the video. Whatever it is, both approaches can be made to work while staying faithful to the text.
