Political experience is obviously good, but if there's a situation where someone without it is going to win, I think Oprah's the person we want!
If she was elected she'd undoubtedly surround herself with politically experienced & smart people & actually listen to their advice, while still having the confidence & skills to lead the team she'd assembled for the purpose of improving America & the lives of all the American people (then once she'd done that & raised the credibility & respect of America globally to new heights, then she'd move on to world peace :))

Unbeknown to me my legacy was teaching a student how to do long division aged 10 years old. The mum stated that his confidence sky rocketed in so many direction. I was absolutely gobsmacked.
So I say continue BEING THE BEST OF YOU.
We are all a refection of being the Best we can be everyday when we live our lives from a place of Truth, Tolerance, Understanding and Acceptance. This is nothing new and how many of us live our lives. Glad Oprah gets it. too. :) TV personalities can be a vehicle for a select group of those that watch TV.
She is right. You don't have to do specific work do be kind to someone who is sad, to smile on the street , to help someone, to be friendly on the phone at work to a caller etc. Please don't forget to see these positive things when media (who has an interest in reporting sensation because of money... and therefor make people anxious and depressed, but media really don't care about this toxic media-legacy...) only report bad things. Positive things are thère.

Oprah, here is how your show touched me. Because of your show I went back to school. One of your guest went back to school, to get her GED. This guest if memory serves was in her mid 70's maybe even older. Because of that show I too went back to school got my GED and went on to take some college courses in turn I was able to advance in my professional life. Many thank you's to you and this guest who shared her story.

One of my favorite books is "what I know for sure," by Oprah herself. Listening it in audiobook form is just loads better. She really does inspire me to want to be true to myself.

If this is deep for you, you are swimming in the shallow end of the pool :) To me she seems quite attached to her public image, fame and fortune, and those are not the characteristics of a developed spiritual teacher. It ultimately seems to revolve around her and the wealth she's accumulated, even though her message has a spiritual vibe to it and she has been able to help people if I've understood correctly. Eckhart Tolle's been doing a lot of stuff with her but in one of his interviews he pointed out that there's a lot that Oprah is not willing to let go of. A cunning business woman and a seeker of knowledge for sure, but if she wants to move forward on her spiritual path there's a lot of letting go to do.
The whole thing is like collecting signposts from different spiritual and cultural traditions but never really taking the time to implement any of them fully, playing around with appealing concepts like 'letting go' but not really letting go of anything. It doesn't really work that way. At some point you have to stop trotting around and start doing the 'dirty work' within yourself - you already have the knowledge you need, and you don't have to lift self-professed and self-possessed gurus on pedestals to develop yourself.
Overall it's interesting how people are revered and listened to based on their capacity to accumulate wealth. I think it's more interesting to listen to those who have left that behind in search for something more meaningful. We have a lot of people like that these days, very wise people, whom you might meet on CZcams by chance.. Success driven ego figures like Oprah, basking in the public eye for whatever reason, just aren't that interesting anymore.
