The Smart View Display is a multi-function digital meter located on the dash panel. It is a Battery Status Indicator, Hour Meter, Fault Code Display and optional Maintenance Monitor.
Battery status is displayed as a series of bars. A fully charged battery is shown as 100% and all bars are displayed. The bars will disappear as the battery is discharged below 100%.
At 75% discharged, the last three bars will flash.
Then, at 90% discharged, all bars flash, the top speed is reduced and a fault code of F01004 is displayed.
Further discharging the batteries causes the vehicle to stop and fault code F04009 displayed.
The Battery Status Indicator and fault codes only reset when the battery is fully recharged. An incomplete or opportunity charge cycle will not properly reset the indicator.
The Hour Meter display is located in the lower half of the display. The meter displays the engine hours, sometimes known as the traction hours. Hours are recorded when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
Fault codes are displayed in place of the hour meter display. Fault codes communicate a number of various electrical system faults.
Refer to your vehicle's manual for a list of fault codes and actions required to correct the fault. Some codes prevent the vehicle from operating. These faults must be corrected to operate the vehicle.
These are some common driver caused fault codes. [Graphics]
F01004 is for low battery voltage. This code reduces the vehicle top speed. To clear the code you need to fully charge the batteries.
F04009 is for extremely low battery voltage. This code stops the vehicle operation. To clear the code you need to fully charge the batteries.
Code F04003 is an incorrect sequence used to start the vehicle. The vehicle will not run. To clear the code, properly sit or stand in the driver's position, set the directional switch in the center and let up on the accelerator pedal. To drive, select a direction then press the accelerator pedal.
Code F04005 means no direction was selected. The vehicle will not run.
To clear this code, let up on the accelerator.
To drive, select a direction then press the accelerator.
Code F04006 means the operator presence was not activated. The vehicle will not run unless you are properly standing or sitting in the vehicle.
The Maintenance Monitor function is optional. The monitor signals the driver when preventative maintenance is required based on the traction hours. The word "MAINTENANCE" is displayed above the hour meter display if the monitor function is turned on.
During 10 hours prior to the scheduled maintenance, the wrench icon will flash. At the end of the 10 hour warning, the wrench icon will stay on steady and the vehicle top speed will be reduced.
Reset the monitor with the handset. The wrench icon disappears and the vehicle top speed is restored. Contact your local dealer to purchase a handset. Your local Taylor-Dunn dealer can turn the Maintenance Monitor function on or off.
Refer to your vehicle's manual for additional details on the Smart View Display, other features of your vehicle, and important safety information.
