I do believe we go somewhere after death, because energy cannot be destroyed only transfered. Just because you cannot remember stuff before being born doesn't mean it was nothing.

I think people are not as interested in immortality as they are coping in this life. I dont think it's any accident that the greater the poverty the more religious. I think people are not as interested in immortality as they are coping in this life. I dont think it's any accident that the greater the poverty the more religious. You can endure trauma if you think you'll have riches in a heaven. You can cope with grief due to death of a loved one if you think you'll see them again after you die. You can accept people doing horrible things if you think they'll be punished in a hell. It's not about not dying, it's coping with this life.
