Maybe he's a transplant like Deon Cole. His roots are in Chicago, but he's been live in L.A. for a while now. I don't know. I'll look it up in the morning.
I couldn't find anything on his official website or his Facebook page, but I did read his bio on Improv's website. Michael was born in Chicago, Il, but he made a name for himself in a club on Venice Beach, CA. improv.com/comic/michael+colyar/.
