The straps are not only adjustible. They're removable to add whatever strap you like to make it work for you. That's the whole point of having removal Straps. Now I understand the concept and I tried it once, but I forgot they were wrapped underneath the flap and I dropped the bag. , Either adjust the strap or replace it with one of the appropriate length..
