Ingredients
Cake/Pudding
300ml of water
250 Grams of dates
1 Teaspoon of baking soda
75 Grams of butter
2 Eggs lightly beaten
1 Cup of self raising flour
1 Cup of brown sugar
Sauce
60 Grams of butter
1/2 Cup of brown sugar

Hello from Bahrain, i made this yesterday, i put the egg and i stirred fast but unfortunately the egg cooked and it was a disaster, so i tried again today and i waited the date to cool down and then i added the egg, i had to put it in oven for 40 mins, it turned to be the most amazing date cake i have ever tried in my life, thank you very much for the amazing recipe! I LOVED IT!!!

This is so good that, I haven't made this in ages. Today I had a psychotic craving for it and all I could vaguely remember was an aussie guy and a date pudding video. I've never remembered a video that quickly. Hats of to you! This dessert is too good to exist.

I realize this video is 8 years old. Last night I was looking for a recipe with dates, and I finally came across your video and decided, that was what I was looking for.... something easy and yummy. I made this following your recipe and it was absolutely 10/10 delicious and also it was easy to make, thank you so much! I don’t eat egg so I just replaced the eggs with apple sauce and it turned out wonderfully.

Thanks soo much, made it today and my family loved it.
Added a bit of instant coffee to the caramel sauce to make it browner and also for a bit of zing.
I put the caramel sauce on the side for the family to pour on their own plate

Its awesome! I tried it...my first attempt and it came out amazing...a bit sweet probably coz of the brown sugar i used....but even so, its amazingly good! Must try!

Have made this last night together with my child ... OMG ! is so good and so easy to make. Halved the sugar portions - for my kid to eat also - and still is very tasty. The sauce needs to be boiled for about 5-7 minutes, in order to get to that "gravy" consistency (or that's maybe because I put less sugar) . For sure one of my favorites - Thanks !

I would of preferred sauce bit thicker ,but it all looked very nice 👍🏻 I’m going to try this as I love sticky toffee pudding .
