Well, he's a character! Bailey to be the best in the world one day... I'll have a bit of that. His hamstring problems seem to be well and truly behind him now. His loading and his his minutes are managed better. Top marks to Bailey for not giving up and the coaches for getting him up to the level he's at. He is a joy to watch, long may it continue.

Luke, its amazing that you have had the opportunity to interview Craig. It great to see him so knowledgeable on the sport. I’ve been following Craig’s updates on Leon for nearly two years now through the Jamaican sports channels. I was actually able pose a statement to Craig directly on CZcams live chat when Leon’s form was struggling under Gerrard thanking him for Leon and how I believed that Leon will still become big player for Aston Villa, on which he thanked me for my comment. It’s also interesting that if Jack Grealish was used as an attraction to draw Bailey suggest that Villa wasn’t planning to sell Jack at all but had to when the release clause was met by Man City. UTV

The problem with the gentleman you have interviewed is that he has no diplomatic skills and has been at odds with the Jamaican FA for years. He is more an agent not a coach and it's probably been taken down now but he recorded and posted on your tube himself cursing everyone in Jamaica as being jealous whilst recoding him walking through his house boasting how rich he is and showing his car and motorbike collection . Not someone you would leave in charge of your football programme the JFF and Craig are both as bad as each other and jamaica needs a clean sweep of both parties. Craig is successful with his academy and should be left to run that alone. Jamaic need a white paper which outlines its strategic football development as the local league is poorly attended with sub standard pitches the players are physically underdeveloped. There is no local Derby of any note. Most teams don't have a ground and the national team plays in front of gates of 2000 all in the grandstand whilst the other part of the ground is empty(see their last home game vs Canada even with the EPL players playing) so it's not used. A total overhaul is needed starting with appointing a director of football at the top from outside the region to bring on professionalism. and it not Rudolph Speid either
That was very interesting about Bailey being brought up from childhood his father being a big influence on his future very good direction and choices they made very hard journey to make through those years but he's landed at home here at villa Park just keep delivering those unstoppable unstoppable performances UTV

Fantastic and fascinating interview, congrats and great job. Definitely brings a new light to Leon's struggles with their FA. Its sad. There's some new controversy that is keeping him out of the game against the US tomorrow. Now as an American that's not necessarily a bad thing, lol, but it sucks for Leon and we've got a pretty good side when at full strength, would have been cool to see Leon line up against them.

I am a born Jamaican living in Jamaica ever since. And the first time I saw Leon or heard of him I thought he was Brazilian. One of the best of Jamaica. I also played but never take it seriously. Plus never had any support.

Fascinating insight to hear from a family members perspective.The biggest revelation for me is, that Grealish was sold after promising to build the team around both him and Bailey.
I wonder if that was genuinely the plan at some point? And unfortunately, it came down to compliance with FFP that made the club pivot?

I don't think so remember Grealish release clause was met we had no choice in the matter they just delayed it to bring in what they thought would be enough to replace for less money before the sale. We might've approached Butler for Bailey before then who knows but it could've just been a lie to try to entice him to Villa aswell either way it wasn't for FFP reasons why we sold Jack although it did us a load of good for us to keep spending without any really major outgoings other then him.
Yeah, I was also thinking perhaps they approached Bailey months before the release cause was met. Imagine having both of them on each wing, with Watkins up top!@@dennisgoatimer1079

There are points to be taken from all of this.
The recruitment of overseas based players & coaching staff is taking a toll on the Federations budget... and is therefore limiting its ability to spend in areas it ought to focus on for the long term development.
The football played by the UK based players does not appeal to jamaican fans..😢
It is also stifling the local talent pool.
There is just no midfield system with the UK players.
We cant pay them, we cant afford flying them in, we cant afford housing them.
Hence, i dont see why we force the issue with the little we have in money.
I hope we put a system in place where one has to live in jamaica and have evidence of playing in jamaica before in a registerred competition.
Hence you wud have the jamaican dna we know and can resonate with.
And people wud know u before u left and will come see u wen u return.
This whole business of recruiting must stop..

It’s the media misinterpretation with the context for click-bait. Bailey was talking in a Jamaican context and speech over the politics and rivalry in the promotion of Jamaican players of certain Academy’s and the Jamaican Football Federation and he was highlighting the magnitude of the success of his fellow Phoenix Academy graduate Dujan ‘whisper’ Richard achievement in joining Chelsea. When posed the question if he would like to follow suit Bailey said he obviously would have to look at options should a situation arise but he is happy at Villa.
That is a total lie leon was called on numerous occasions for the national squad n turned it down because Kyle wasnt called as well...
