I've always imagined the daemon inside (once over their indignance at being bound) as being frighteningly cheery and at ease on the tabletop. I know it doesn't quite match the lore of how much they represent Mortarion's hatred and self-loathing expressed outwardly, but there's something about the mental image of a diseased juggernaut humming lowly within the confines of their armored shell as they slowly and inevitably trod across the hellscape of the battlefield while the mortals around them writhe and suffer that is just deeeeeeeply unnerving and very much in keeping with the character of Nurgle.
I'm imagining Thomas the Plagueburst now. "Well bust my buffers Morty, I think I got him that time. Do you think he wants to be our friend?"
I can't tell you how many times I have fought Plagueburst Crawlers, they are fantastic models and my Guard Artillery goes for them first everytime!
Your Death Guard videos inspired me to play them. Your gifts are almost as bountiful as the Grandfather's.
Easily my favourite tank unit in the entire warhammer verse. Love the terror it causes, love the design. Just staring down that mortar invokes unsanitary visions of Grandfather Nurgle's brown eye itself! For Deathguard fans, what's not to love?!

It's rather ironic that the death guard have a better artillery piece than the iron warriors, I wish they could still take basilisk like they used to.

I had wondered for some time what those massive cannons were on those things! Definitely a unique piece of battlefield armillary. Looks very fun to paint as well.
If I’m not mistaken those canons are based on the ones from real life that were used on the German Sturmtiger artillery tanks of WW2. The shells were so big the tanks actually had small foldable cranes built into them to help load the canon, which is more accurately called a mortar. The small holes around the barrel are vents made to direct exhaust from the shell firing, since they were actually rocket propelled.

This thing is an unholy tease to me, because I managed to pick up Issue #42 of Warhammer Conquest magazine with half a Plagueburst Crawler a couple on months ago - just in time for the mag to be pulled from shelves, so I can't find the other half anywhere! Where I eventually find Issue #41 at a reasonable price or give up and use the parts for kitbashing, my plans for a Chaos Kitchen Sink army remain the same.

Recently got a 2nd one and the friend group is not happy about it lol
These things would be terrifying for Guardsmen to try and take down. However new Primaris using fast Heavy Destroyer Cannons and Astreus tanks would wreck them using shields to block the toxins. That is lore wise though not tabletop.

In my first ever game (where we kept it simple so maybe mistakes were made) I dealt a hefty blow to a PBC with a hunter killer missile just about lost half of its wounds then later it was finished by a tac marine with a rocket launcher who I can tell you definitely earned a name that day.
My favourite “tank” for 40k. For the Grandfather! 🤢
