How to Mount a Soundbar to a TV - Best Way to Mount a Soundbar!

  • In my opinion, mounting a soundbar to a TV is the best method for mounting a soundbar. Mounting a soundbar to a wall can be very difficult and often there isn't a lot of room for error.
When you mount it to the TV, there's no need to drill additional holes in the wall. It also allows the soundbar to move with the TV if you are using an articulating mount!
Mounting Dream Soundbar Mount (on Amazon):
    geni.us/8AgY
Soundbar is the Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro (on Amazon):
    geni.us/mVCE9Kl
Steps for Mounting a Soundbar to a TV:
    1. Get a soundbar mount. I suggest the mounting dream soundbar mount.
    2. Remove the TV from the wall (if it is currently mounted).
    3. Remove the mount from the back of the TV (if needed).
    4. Attach the soundbar mounting brackets to the back of the TV along with the TV's wall mounting brackets.
PRO TIP: Make sure your screws are plenty long enough. Otherwise, you can risk your TV falling off the wall.
5.a. Make sure the soundbar will properly attach to the mounting brackets.
5.b. Or go ahead and attach the soundbar to the mounting brackets.
    6. Mount the TV back to the wall.
    7. Attach the soundbar to the mounting brackets (if you haven't already). If you wait till the TV is on the wall to attach the soundbar, then screw in 1 side first then screw in the opposite size.

Using those exact mounting brackets, can you mount them on the outside/exterior of the vesa mount or does it have to be between the tv and vesa mount like in your video? I've seen it both ways, as I guess it helps with how far out your soundbar protrudes from the tv. I just wanted to make sure its safe. Thank u!

Great video, I was thinking about mounting a soundbar under my son's TCL 6 series which is currently wall-mounted. It looks like it has a separate setup threaded screw holes right next to the TV wall. So I'm thinking I can melt this type of bracket right to the TV without taking the TV mount off

Hey, I've read that mounting a soundbar to tv must have at least 10 cm gap between bar and tv, what's your opinion on this? I'm hoping to buy a Sonos Arc and mount it this way, but looks wise I'd much prefer bar closer to tv, although they say it can impede on sound.

Can this mount work for the Vizio 2.1 M series soundbar? I ask because it has the shape of it looking like it has to sit flat. I'm thinking if I use this bracket the speakers on the bar might face up or down and not having the sound come straight out toward where I'll be sitting.

Mounting Yamaha 1080 soundbar .. one thing interesting I can't find in any of these sound bar mounting videos, if you just put that sound bar on a table below the tv you would sit it flat on the table however the keyholes for wall or TV mounting are on the bottom which means when you mount it on the wall you would flip it up on its back so the orientation is different than sitting it on a table, but no one talks about this nuance. changing the orientation I suspect would alter the sound quality not sure For better or for worse. when you mount it to the bottom of the TV as in your video should you keep the orientation of the soundbar the same as if you were sitting it on the table and the keyholes would be on the bottom and you would use an L-shaped bracket or would you flip it on its bottom so the key holes are on the back so the sound bar is essentially standing up on end? Same with other brands hard to tell which orientation flat or on edge they should be mounted. To clarify the sound bar itself is always running left to right horizontal I'm not talking about mounting it up and down vertically, just asking whether it is flat on the bottom or flipped up on it's end against the wall. Hope that's clear let me know what you think.

Can you install a soundbar when using an attachable tv stand? My current soundbar is attached to the top of the set, using Soundbar Brackets. My new set Hisense 55U8G has a larger footprint than my current stand. I decided to get a Perlsmith PSTVS04 to replace the stand. But I still want to use my soundbar. Is it possible to somehow attach both to the back of the set? Or would I I have to just place the sound bar below the front of the set? HELP!!

Is it worth using one of these if I have a Dolby Atmos soundbar (with rear surround speakers, or is it best I leave the soundbar stationary on the wall? I have the exact same SANUS TV mount as you, so the TV can move on the arm. But I think the soundbar I have has room/wall detection, so would the sound be less immersive if it were on these special mounts (since I don't think Dolby Atmos soundbars are designed to swivel on mounts)? I would expect them to be designed to stay stationary on the wall due to its room/wall detection technology and potential interference that comes with moving them around
