  • A column of Sherman tanks makes its way east on a thin road out of Normandy through dense hedges and stubby trees. At the end, everyone is reminded that it's all Roosevelt's fault.

Later when the Americans have the M4A1 Sherman with the early 76mm, it could pen the Panther's front including the Tiger E's front hull too. So they had the M4A2 76, and the M4A3 HVSS 76 tanks. Also it includes the their British brother, the Sherman Firefly with the 17 pounder cannon which can pen the Tiger and the Panther too.

      @@simoncivin1619 I know that this is am old comment but I've decided to answer this question. Wilkie was a candidate in the German elections. Although Wilkie won a huge vote, a far more popular ww1 general, Hindenburg was made leader and Hitler was absolutely destroyed in the elections, Hindenburg was pressured to appoint Hitler as chancellor. By this time Hindenburg was getting old and died due to age. Hitler was then made president of Germany. And the rest is history. Wilkie was a fairly popular candidate but ultimately lost against Hindenburg and then Hitler would control

      @michaelspears5121 Před 9 lety +10

      UltraGamer Except the Allies could afford the losses. Yeah the tank is great. But they were always outnumbered. It's like the Spartans at Thermopylae.
      Yes they were armored, held a fixed, highly effective fighting position. But they were still outnumbered. And they still lost.
      Great armor doesn't mean hell when you knock out two tanks and three have already flanked you.
      These tanks were also plagued with mechanical failures. Especially the Panther. The first ones that entered service at Kursk were effective in combat, but practically everyone failed at some point.
      Yes multiple Tiger crews scored well over 10:1 ratios.
      But overall tank casualties were always 2:1 in favor of the German army.
      Anyway point is, yes Wittmann killed a lot of tanks and armor in his very effective, heavily armed Tiger. But one Sherman with "SHIT armor" managed to knock at least five Tigers.

    • @johnhighway9397
      @johnhighway9397 Před 9 lety +2

      Michael Spears
      You cant flank a Panther because it was a fast tank.
      and you just proved that the only reason allies won is because of higher numbers.
      for example look at top ACES.Only germans aces have 100+ confirmed kills while allied are like 50 and bellow.
      How did british survive such looses when just 3 german pilots had taken out 400 british fighters? how did russians and americans survive such looses too? especially their tanks.
      Just because of numbers and puting their crews in full danger.
      yes germans at the end of the war lost, but at least their tanks could actually protect them and feel 'safe'.Americans were afraid to get in their Sherman when fighting german Panzers and Panthers because 1 shot from a Panther or PZ IV was a sure kill.

    • @michaelspears5121
      @michaelspears5121 Před 9 lety +7

      UltraGamer Yes you can flank a Panther because they were a mechanical mess. You can flank any tank.
      At the Battle of Arracourt the Panthers were outgunned and outmaneuvered by the M-18 and M-10 assault guns. They suffered over eighty tank losses and over a hundred critically disabled to about thirty tank destroyers.
      Anyway my point is that the quality of the tank doesn't count when you're outnumbered ten to one.
      And please give my information of those four hundred pilots casualties. If it was bombers than that's sounds softly reasonable. But I highly doubt that its 400, considering the skill of the British pilots at Britain, where 2,700 German pilots exceeded just 544 British deaths.
      Even though the German tanks were superior; they suffered substantial losses. They probably felt safe in their tanks against a classic Sherman or T-34, but against artillery and air support I wouldn't reckon it.

      @toniadavis7433 Před 5 lety +4

      False, the sherman was reliable and unlike this animation shows, you could escape it easily, fix it easily, modify its gun to punch through any German tank, (spoiler the U.S. And The other allies did) and modify the armour to survive the highest caliber German gun. Considering this the panther and Sherman are pretty equal. Except the panther and tiger broke down in flash, and the Sherman was produced in the tens of thousands, while the panther was only produced in VERY small numbers, in conclusion the Sherman was the best tank of the war

      ask homann The Sherman did not break down often. However, due to its narrow tracks, it threw its track way more often than per say a Tiger. But regarding the machinery far from it.
      The Tiger's transmission, drive shaft, and HL-230 P45 Maybach engine were delicate, underpowered, and often unreliable.
      Late war Panthers, surprisingly saw marginally less mechanical problems than the Tiger. However that being said, early war Panthers and the PzKpfw. VI Ausf. B KonigsTiger were renown for being unreliable.

    Another superb animation! Well done. However I must say that the shot to the Panther's side armor (made by the second Sherman) would have destroyed it, as the side armor was significantly weaker than the frontal and vulnerable to the 75mm. Also by this time in the war most Sherman formations included at least one "Easy Eight" which could destroy a Panther with ease. But forget that and keep the great videos coming!

    Its impressive work you did here, I totally subscribbed, I wonder... is there any tutorial on how to make these tanks? Well I know these require a lot of different brick types not available together so it would be needed to get several lego sets or buy isolated bricks etc well I just ask because the way you do them look impressive, keep up the awesome work =)
