To commemorate the birthday and barsi of the great sarod patriarch Ustad Sakhawat Hussain Khan Last-Mohican Records proudly presents his complete recordings. Gathered here for the first time are his Menaka Ensemble recordings made in Hamburg/Germany in 1936.
During the 1920ies/early 30ties he recorded seven short pieces on 78RPM discs with Pt. Sakharam on pakhawaj. We included the finest available transfers. His famous Wadia-Movietone Reel recording of Pilu and his 1940ies Feature Film recording of Gara top off this exclusive package. A thirty-page booklet with ultra-rare archival pictures and extra pdfs containing texts about him by SK Choubey and Susheela Misra are part of the album.
