The great tenors of the early to mid-twentieth century are introduced and analyzed in a 13-part television series. Each episode has both a biographical and a musical focus. Every tenor's particular art and style is demonstrated in remarkable archive footage which was digitally scanned and its speed and pitch corrected; much of this footage is from private collections or long-lost films and is shown here for the first time.

A truly amazing voice -a Russian Lauri Volpi in that he could still sing like this at over 80 years of age! !
Kozlovsky is reminding us here that the Duke is an aristocrat & not an unmannered bawler. I love this voice, but as Stephanie G says he can be an aquired taste. Listen long enough & he will win you over. What a wonderful technique he had.

I´m in love! What a singer and what a handsome man! If you enjoyed this watch him as the "holy fool" in Boris Godunov (found it here on CZcams.) Then you don´t have to ask anymore what he thought about Stalin. (first fetch a handcerchief. You may start to cry!)

Kozlovsky is something of an acquired taste, his nasal intonation can be distracting, but there is no doubting his technique and musical intelligence.
the Russian language is unfortunately not as "amorosa" and dulce as the Italian one.
