Good thing I dodged in anticipation

  • I saw this car rolling steadily towards the edge of the road. So I anticipated that they were about to pull out in front of me. I quickly make a lane change to avoid them - and as predicted they pulled right out.
Really hate how careless people are around bikes. I give them to revs to remind them to keep their eyes open.

Lots of folks in the comments convinced that “he came out because I moved over”.
    1. That’s still wrong. You don’t come out when someone is passing one lane away.
    2. That’s not what happened. Watch the clip slowly. He never stopped rolling forward. Dude was coming out either way. I just saw it and responded well in time.
Part of being a safe motorcyclist is being able to see these things before they happen. Not just waiting to react until the car is almost touching you.

      @Justinkelleylifts Před 2 měsíci +2

bruh... watch the clip slowly it clearly shows the car was creeping forward so they can see if it is clear to pull out. you started switching lanes as they were creeping up to see and then they saw the right lane was clear and turned (which is not wrong... i don't know what world you live in but that is common practice everywhere). you can tell yourself whatever you want to think happened but the video shows a different story than what you're trying to portray. either way man people can make mistakes and you shouldn't act the way you did, be the bigger person even if they were in the wrong but especially in this situation because the dude really did nothing wrong, you over reacted to something that should've been nothing, because it was nothing.

@@Justinkelleylifts nah, I expect to be treated like a VIP on the road. All motorcyclists deserve more space and respect from the folks who chose to ride in a cage. Only half joking tbh.
Anyway I’ve carefully analyzed the video. I’m definitely sure I’m right. I expect more space from cars - and if they don’t give it - I work to defend it.
You don’t have to like it. You just gotta move.

@@SeattleSpeedIf you are in the right lane and shift to the left lane when there are cars waiting to turn out like that it signals to them that you are giving them room to turn into the right lane. I do this all the time out of courtesy, but when you did it and the car turned into the right lane (exactly as I would have predicted, and ahead of you, not next to you I might add) you proceed to rev bomb a family and swear at them. I don't know if you are being facetious for the sake of stirring up some controversy for internet points or what but if you genuinely think you're in the right here that is legitimately disturbing.

    • @SeattleSpeed

@@RideBound I am 100% on the right here. You don’t come out into the right lane when there is a car (or a motorcycle) passing by you one lane away. That’s just plain dangerous. It’s very easy to overshoot your lane with the nose of your car and cause an accident. If you’re doing this - especially if you’re doing this regularly - then please consider that what you’re doing is dangerous.
The only thing disturbing here is that folks seem to think this is okay. You don’t pull out as a car is passing you.
Either way - this guy was clearly about to pull out. That’s why I moved over. Y’all seem to think he had time to see me move over and then made the decision to go. The camera makes it look like he was way further away than he really was.
Dude was rolling right out onto the road and didn’t slow or change speed at all. He never saw me…

@@SeattleSpeed no dog. You move on the left if you see someone come over from the side. They didn't even barge in like most do. Everyone on the road wants to kill you, didn't they teach you that at the course? You really expect people to care about you and your bike? Wake up fast or you'll become a splat on the ground. Always expect the worse. In this case the car did nothing deserving of a overraction like that. Calm your tjts or you'll leave the 2 wheels pretty fast

@@_d-- I’ve been riding on the two wheels since 2014. I have some experience I’m working with here. I’ve dealt with lots of bad situations. In this case - I felt it was unsafe to stay in that lane. I moved over because I saw this guy rolling forward slowly. Sure enough he came out…
Common opinion in the comments seems to be that he came out because I moved over. But that’s not a thing you would do for a car. If a car was right there passing you in the left lane - you wait. If you don’t you’re a bad driver I think.
