1959 Hindi movie....BEDARD ZAMANA KYA JAANE featured the song.....QIAID MEIN HAI DULHAN...DULHA MUSKURAE....SAHA BHI NA JAYE AUR RAHA BHI NA JAYE is the foundation of this bhajan. The Hindi song was written by our dearest Bharat Vyas-ji. The music in the movie was by Kalyanji Veerji Shah, before he teamed up with Anand-ji. The same song was popular among all the village folks during Vivah and weddings.
Interestingly, Birju Barot has not sung this Shradhdhanjali Bhajan in any of his program. He keeps looking at the phone on his right side, for lyrics, because he has not written down this bhajan in his books. Its alright, many artists go thru this, when someone or somewhere, it is required to recite a certain gazal or kirtan regardless whether the artist has that in his collection or not. But he followed the script with his great skillful aalaap to make this so beautiful and soulful.
