Asa. Sahu Sajda or making it right for forgetfulness: Last sitting, after prostration when we sit and read tashahud(attahiyatu) and darood (Allahumma salliala), we have to do 2 extra prostrations(sajda), and then we can do salam(tasleem) on both sides. He said if we do 2 extra sajda after salam/tasleem, still valid. In case we prayed 3 rakat in stead of 4, we have to pray that 1 missing rakah by itself, which I don't know how. Hope it helps.

Rene S I have researched this often and I thought that after the last tashahud, you add two prostrations and then again read tashahud. Does this invalidate my prayer? Because I added something?
I thought I forgot a prostration so I added one and then I doubted if I prayed two or three prostrations so I did what I mentioned.

Chaima Hauhau , I myself had done that. I am not that knowledgeable but I believe doing something without knowing is acceptable and it doesn't seem any major mistake, Allah knows best and we pray He accept it InshAllah

the scholars teach us that the prayer has 14 pillars that must be completed for the prayer to be accepted.
      The 14 Pillars of Prayer
1.Intention (setting the right intention for praying each prayer)
2.The opening takbeer (saying ‘Allahu Akbar‘ at the beginning of prayer)
3.The qiyam (standing upright if one has the ability to do so)
4.Reciting Surat Al-Fatihah (Opening Chapter of the Quran) in each unit of prayer
      5.Bowing
      6.Rising from the bowing position
      7.Prostrating
      8.Sitting between the two prostrations
9.Sitting while reciting the last tashahhud
10.The final tashahhud (reciting the testimony of faith)
11.As-Salatu Ibrahimiya after tashahud (sending peace upon the Prophet)
12.The tasleem (saying ‘Asalamu Alaikum‘ at the end of the prayer)
13.Being calm and feeling at ease while fulfilling each movement is essential to give it its due right; making certain that each body part assumes the appropriate position before one moves from one position to another.
14.Following the right order for each pillar as mentioned above.(from aboutislam.net)

I think you might be suffering from waswas (whispers of Shaytaan). He tries to put doubts in your worship so that you keep repeating them until you give up doing it completely. It is a sign of imaan because shaytaan does this only to those who are serious about practising Islam. The best advice is to ignore these doubts if they are unreasonable.

      @jannatul_farduse1 Před rokem +2

If you forget to sit for the 1st tashahud and you stand up then realize the mistake, in this case you should not go back and offer tashahud rather you should continue you prayer and then at the end of the salah before offering salam, offer sujood as sahu.
And if you are totally confused which raka you are praying, then based you assumption on the least and continue praying and just before offering salam, offer sujood as sahu.
These are the 2 scenarios where you offer sujood as sahu before salam.
But there are other scenarios where you should offer these sujood after salam. There is a video on sheikh assimalhakeem's channel about sajda as sahu where he explained all these in details. I recommend you to watch that video.

Asalām-Alaykum. My dear brother, if we commit a mistake in the prayer and we are behind the Imām, it will result in two cases:
      1. We have joined the prayer since the first Rak'āh, in this case if we forget something in the prayer, we do not perform Sujūd As-Sahw.
      2. We have missed a Rak'āh and we joined the prayer behind the Imām. In this case if we forget something, it is upon us to correct it by performing Sujūd As-Sahw.
If we have not made a mistake and it is the Imām who has made a mistake. In this case as well, there will be two cases.
      1. We have joined the Imām since the first Rak'āh. We will follow the Imām in his mistake knowingly and we will not oppose the Imām in his movements. When the Imām performs Sujūd As-Sahw, we perform it with him, even if he performs it after the Taslīm, we perform it with him.
      2. We have missed a Rak'āh or so and we have joined behind the Imām. In this case if the Imām makes a mistake, we follow him in his movements. Now, if he performs Sujūd As-Sahw before the Taslīm, we can perform it, however if he performs it after the Taslīm; we will not follow him. Instead, once the Imām performs the Taslīm, we will stand up and complete our prayer and then we will perform Sujūd As-Sahw after the Taslīm.

Asalām-Alaykum. If you have completed the prayer and then a doubt comes that we have committed a mistake, as long as it is a doubt and you can not remember properly - ignore it. However, if you come to remember, then if a long time has not passed by, you will need to perform Sujūd As-Sahw if you did not perform an obligatory act. If you did not perform a pillar, you will need to pray from what you left and that which comes afterwards and perform Taslīm and Sujūd As-Sahw afterwards.

For one to comprehensively understand this, one must memorize the pillars of the prayer and its obligatory acts. Once it is done, then Sujūd As-Sahw is applied in three cases:
      1. Az-Ziyādah.
      2. An-Naqs.
      3. Ash-Shak.
      *Az-Ziyādah (to add):*
Whensoever one forgetfully adds something in his prayer, he must leave that addition right away and he must complete his prayer. He will perform Sujūd As-Sahw after the Taslīm. This is in accordance to the Hadīth narrated by 'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd in Sahīh Al-Bukhārī.
      *An-Naqs (to omit):*
Whensoever one forgetfully omits something from his prayer, in other words, he leaves it. He will either omit a pillar or an obligatory act.
      _Omission in pillars:_
If one omits Rukū' in the first Rak'ah which (the Rukū') is a pillar. This will result in two cases. The first being that he remembers it before he reaches Rukū' in the next Rak'ah. In this case he will leave whatsoever he is doing and he will perform the Rukū' of his first Rak'ah and then he will perform whatsoever comes afterwards.
The second case is when he remembers it after having reached the Rukū' in the next Rak'ah. In this case, his first Rak'ah will become invalid; so his second Rak'ah will become his first Rak'ah.
In both the cases, he will have to perform Sujūd As-Sahw after the Taslīm.
      _Omission in obligatory acts:_
If an obligatory act he forgets, but he remembers it during its place, he will perform it and there will be nothing due upon him.
If an obligatory act he forgets, but he remembers it before reaching the pillar which comes after the obligatory act, he is required to go back and perform the obligatory act; Sujūd As-Sahw is due on him after the Taslīm.
If an obligatory act he forgets, but he remembers it after having reached the next pillar - he can not return, he must continue his prayer and Sujūd As-Sahw is to be performed before the Taslīm; this is in accordance to the Hadīth of 'Abdullāh ibn Buhaynah in Sahīh Al-Bukhārī.
      *Ash-Shak (doubtfulness):*
It is ignored in three cases:
      1. A mere speculation, a whisper of Shaitān, etcetera.
      2. Not a single prayer he prays except that he is caused to doubt.
      3. A doubt which comes after the completion of the prayer. As long it is a doubt, it is ignored; unless one becomes certain.
A doubt except for these are held in prayer. One can perform what is weightier in his mind, if not he must perform the lesser of the two. For example a Muslim who is confused whether he is in his third or fourth Rak'ah:
He will either act upon that which is having more weight in his mind, as an example, his mind leans towards him being in the fourth Rak'ah; he will take it as his fourth. Sujūd As-Sahw is to be performed the after the Taslīm.
He can not conclude what the case is, he chooses the lesser of the two and Sujūd As-Sahw is to be performed before the Taslīm. This is in accordance to the Hadīth of Abū Sa'īd Al-Khudrī in Sahīh Al-Muslim.

Asalām-Alaykum. Sujūd As-Sahw is required to be performed either before the Taslīm or afterwards depending on the mistake one has made. However, if one performs both the mistakes which requires him to perform Sujūd As-Sahw before and also afterwards. The scholars say that performing it before the Taslīm is sufficient and there is no need to perform it after the Taslīm.
