Deathcore fans haven't collectively agreed on what to call it yet but many call it the predator/reptile/velociraptor sound. Alex's case is unique though. I know 4 vocalists who can do that noise(including me of course), and all of them do it with highs, meanwhile Alex did it with lows, that's the first time I hear someone do it like that.
