How power could be totally cut off if the capacity payments to some of the IPPs---not supplying the unneeded surplus power to the extent of 20000 megawatts---are stopped.

Distribution problems aside, we don’t need this extra 20000 megawatts to begin with-but paying capacity charges for them thanks to the (steep) binding in the contracts.
No electricity supply no capacity payments
Electricity production cannot be load demand so plz correct your fact, the main problem is in Pak we donot have industrial growth and mostly electricity is consumed by house holders, if we have industries in Pak we can sell the electricity to industrial sector and generate money at higher rate. Unfortunately due to political instability , our industrial sector has been declined so the extra cost of electricity has to bear by the govt and the govt put high taxes on common people.
In pak everything is mismanaged like in previous era there is no planning of CNG so a lot of CNG pumps we found in every corner and it has been depleted afterwards so we go for RLNG contracts.
Real estate sector is another problem in Pak, people invest heavily in that sector so now they are in stress.
Right decision at right time can safe Pak from failure. Bring political stability to get back the country on track is one step towards prosperity.
Govt is responsible for this expensive electricity.
From last 3 years I Enjoy free electricity. Getting 1800 unit free from 3 meters (600 each) in my home. I use 4 AC.
My Kids free education with books uniform & lunch in school. Same with medical facilities medicine, operations 100% free to all upto 5 lakh. Health card is valid in all high end Pvt hospitals. LPG Gas (Rs-718) is on subsidy.
