What a beautiful person, that so many years after his death, we're still enjoying his artwork. Bob would be so pleased to know that there are so many of us, still watching, and learning. Even just knowing we're using it to feel peaceful and calm would make him smile.
You're so right! He'd love this. He always says at the beginning of his paintings if we want to see older episodes of the joy of painting to "give our station a call."

Bob Ross was an inspiration to everyone who watched him.
I was lucky enough to see Bob paint in person when I was 10years old. He encouraged me to paint and the rest, as they say, is history. I still enjoy watching him and getting inspired. God bless my friend. May you rest in peace.

How did Bob keep his energy and enthusiasm up when he did up to eight episodes in a single day? He recorded a whole season in two and a half days! He obviously loved what he did.
And didn’t make a dime from none of it. That’s dedication and passion!!

@@kenhallmark6434 since those acronyms are pretty subjective at the time of writing, I've changed it to be more family friendly.
I always watch Bob Ross when I'm depressed or when I'm sad, his voice soothes me and his painting process makes all my stress go away. He has been with me through all my bad times.

Seriously me too. Every time I get stressed this is the only thing that can relax me and mellow me out I get stressed quite frequently so I watch him quite a bit honestly he's kinda one of the reasons I remain calm in stressful situations
I watch this man's videos and can't help but think how robbed this world is of his presence. He was amazing.

I'm an atheist and tend to get annoyed when people say that to me. Bob Ross is the only person who doesn't annoy me for saying that all the time.

Your first assumption is wrong. They're not generally older people.
I don't mind that they're being polite, I just don't share their beliefs.
Finally, maybe most people are believers where you are, but definitely not in my crowd.
I don't care if they believe, good for them. I'm not trying to stop anyone from believing, I just get mildly annoyed having people say that to me when I'm not a believer.
And it doesn't matter if you don't see why it annoys you. I'm not speaking for all atheists everywhere, am I? I'm speaking for me.

Yeah I remember being 4 years old and his shows were on TV and my mom would just leave it on since she used to paint and I ended up enjoying them since he would paints these amazing visuals. Not a painter today but I like to think my photography hobby is something I am into because it's another way of capturing the beauty in something like Bob Ross does with his paintings.

To me what made his paintings stand out was sense of color that he had. It is natural talent.
If I have had a long day, I turn Bob on and it's like I'm back with my mom after church on a Sunday snuggled on the couch enjoying his weekly program in the 80s. We all need Bob Ross in our lives, to bring comfort and joy, he continues to be a blessing..

Powerful very powerful. The most peaceful man that I ever had the privilege of watching. I dont even like painting, yet im completely drawn in and truly enjoy watching and listening to this man of PEACE....

Bob is such a kind, gentle man. He does his paintings beautifully, (and this is one of my favorites) he just paints in such a calm smooth way, and he makes it look so easy, it truly inspires me to watch him glide across his canvas. Bob completes his painting in under 30 minutes. It takes me 3 hours to do the same scene. A few hundred pauses along the way. : ) But it's a wonderful result every time!
The best paint show I ever came across. So sorry we lost my man. I would put his show on in the afternoon and could never finish watching. I even dropped my lemonade one summer day he so good and if you relax he would knock ya out. Bob your the best and I still look, listen today when I want to go to sleep... Still the best painter out. God bless you Bob Ross and your family.

August 2021:
I used to watch these with my momma who, in 1985 or so, began painting. She saw a video of him & began buying his supplies. Through the years she painted many many paintings & her Bob Ross supplies were divided among those who also painted after she passed January 2020.
I have several of her paintings and of the remaining paintings, I gave her 5 sisters two paintings each. This isn't all of them because she has given and sold many over the years. I will forever treasure these memories of hers. Bob Ross was definitely her inspiration!

Have been watching Bob Ross paint since the mid 80s. Found him on PBS. Every Sunday from 5 to 5 :25 pm he painted and explained what he was doing in his soft, kind, comfortable voice. Very relaxing & what beautiful paintings he accomplished in such a short amount of time. Will miss him forever
