In some cases a layer of this gray sealing tape was also applied under the bent back shield wires, here the tape is only applied over them. I would prefer to apply it under and above these wires.

your feedback is appreciated and has been well observed.
In that particular case the product were tested according HD629 as it is shown.
Of course your approach can be used too, important is the same amount of sealing tape.

Are those 35kV class, right?
Hello Arthur,
Voltages need to be mentioned as precise as possible. Plug-in itself is available in system voltages up to Uo/U (Umax) 19/33 (36)kV. Surge arrestor are also available with different properties with nearly same dimensions.
