Easy basket DIY - Coffee bag weaving

Tutorial for windmill weaving. A fun and creative way to upcycle plastic coffee bags into durable and functional baskets. The technique is easy to adjust to other basket sizes. Just make the sides smaller or bigger depending on the size you want.
For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags (at least 75 coffee bags)
- paper or cardboard
- a pen
- scissors
- clothespins or other clips
- durable wooden sticks or knitting needles
To sew the holes, you need:
- string (e.g. gift wrapping string)
- a needle (I use 25 cm long Prym mattress needle: www.empressmills.co.uk/mattre...)
- scissors
Size of the strips: 15,3 x 11,1 cm
Width of the folded strip: ~3,7 cm
You need 150 strips for this project.
Size of the basket:
Height: ~ 26 cm
Base: ~ 22 x 37 cm

They are coffee bags from my friends and family and their friends also 😄 coffee bag crafts are popular enough in Finland that many people save their coffee bags and try to find somebody who needs them. Makes it easier to get sometimes even hundreds of coffee bags at once, when somebody has collected them for years and wants to get rid of them 😊

The coffee bags that I use are big enough to make two folded strips. And the basket is 150 strips. So 75 coffee bags 😊
