Loved this vid. There's a lot of focus on speccing, flipping keys etc, in the collecting world and the attention you give to these stories is refreshing. Another video like this with other random and lesser known stories would be awesome, because these are basically bridges into comics - read a great story in a comic randomly and then you could have found a new hobby. Appreciate the work dude!

I had read only the Clayface, Day Robin DIed, and Tec 1000. More of an older stuff guy. Don't know if 368 considered a key due to Jason Todd, but it is best of its era imo. Well written and powerful. Batman #400 was Knightfall before Knightfall, Arkham breakout. It was the last big Batman story before Crisis and a culmination of Moench's run. Detective Annual #4 is a great Elseworlds future tale of the last Batman story. Brave and the Bold had some wild stuff, my favorite was Bats and Sgt. Rock going against Satan/ Hitler in #108.

My personal favorite and admittedly a little hokey story-wise, Batman Annual 8 from 1982... based solely on Trevor Von Eeden's art. I've always considered Von Eeden's stuff unexceptional, the first Green Arrow mini notwithstanding, but his art in this issue is fantastic. This penultimate pre-Crisis Ra's Al Ghul appearance (and one of his many deaths) is unremarkable but the layouts set this issue apart from anything on the shelves at the time. I remember thinking to myself at the time "Why don't other artists do stuff like this?" Of course they did, I just hadn't discovered them yet. It's the first Batman annual to feature a new story rather than reprints and the first annual to be published since 1964 so it's not completely insignificant.

Great video. I'm a 7 out of 10 on those. My pick is DETECTIVE COMICS #604-607 Mudpack story. Remember when you got a free poster in the middle of the comic? I had them proudly on the bedroom wall.Good times

I love these lists, it showcases issues I may not have read or heard about.
An issues I really enjoy is Detective Comics #826 by Paul Dini, called "Slayride." It's a story featuring Joker kidnapping Tim Drake Robin and dragging him along during Xmas holiday killing spree. It focuses on Robin's internal monologue helplessly trying to free himself and stop the Joker. It's a great story, with good artwork and a fantastic cover.

I’ve been reading the Batman 66 stuff, I like it a lot - very camp ala the TV show. I also dig all the Batman Adventures stuff. I think Solomon Grundy needs another run with Batman, with all the zombies stuff over the last 5-10 years I’m surprised this wasn’t pushed. I have a Batman/Spider-Man comic, kinda lame, but I love the spawn mashup and the TMNT run. Sorry this was so long and rambling

Untold Legend of the Batman, 1 & 2, late 70,s Batman issue reading, "Is This the End of the Catwoman" ? Another late 70,s issue Batman issue, first appearance of Arkham Asylum? Batman in strait jacket as inmates all around him reads as one inmate taunts him- "You,re Not the Batman, you,re just One of Us?" Detective comics issues' Batman Family issues, first Batman story has him confronting Maxi Zeus, " The Golden Fleece Mystery" or something similar, the last story- " The Assassination of Batgirl". A hunter stalks her and draws her out only to have the reader thinking she took a fatal bullet and head dive at the end. Next issue, part two where we realize just a ploy to draw Batman out to kill him by General Scarr, Batman, Batgirl ending up defeating the gang. ( Excuse me as texting away from home and comic boxes, so don,t have access to issue no.,s, best recall I can do. ) All these 70,s issues from childhood when 8, 9 years old. The "Legend" issues really blew my little kid mind away, the "End of the Catwoman" issue as well, First "Arkham" issue both loved it and found really creepy. The " There is No Hope in Crime Alley" issue is another stand alone great.

I'm pretty sure I've read that last one. The others will be on my hunting list. If you like heavy stories check out Blood of the Innocents. It was a book put out in the early 90s to bring attention to the usage of landmines and the many mines still lying around in Europe. I won't say much about it, but it has a down ending. I'll break the rules and say Superman Speeding Bullets. A cool Elseworlds story where Kal-El's ship lands not in Kansas but Gotham. Then Devil's Asylum. Part if several books that were headed with Underworld Unleashed, this shows Batman going into Arkham during a power outage. Cool little one shot.

Man i gotta get me that swampie bats combo, thats some Brave and the Bold level banter/characters playing off each other
My pick goes to Batman Gotham Knights 18
Thers no fights, no villains, its just bats restless in Wayne manor trying to handle down time, and its just soooo much character driven growth and development, im on the hunt for at least a 9 to get slabbed
