No, that is not St Canice's Cathedral, you completely missed the Mediaeval Cathedral, which is situated further up the hill from the Catholic Church, also called St Canice's, but of a much later date as Catholicism was illegal in Ireland for some of the period of British rule. The Cathedral was taken from Catholic hands during the Reformation. You also missed One of the oldest churches in Ireland, The Black Abbey, which was to your right when you left the grounds of St Canice's Church.

St Canices and the Black Abbey are pre reformation, one became Protestant the other remained Catholic. The Black Abbey has a fantastic history, please look it up, I can't do it justice here, but just put Strongbow into your search engine of Irish History!
