I got the chance to skate in the Roller Derby. #32 San Francisco Bay Area Bombers. John Hall was the Executive Director of Roller Derby back then. We played at the old Chicago Amphitheater. I trained there as well. I wonder whatever happened to my teammates and the rest of the family? Loved it
Saw my 1st ever Roller Derby game "live in person" @ Kezar Pavilion. Jolters & Bay Bombers. Yes a lot of fond memories. For a 12 year old on his own without Parents, times were very different then too! You can actually afford to go to a game purchase a ticket. Purchase a yearbook. Buy a coke maybe a hot dog not break your allowance!
@@barbie.travels Ironically I still am too after all these years. Still it needs to be done correctly if repeated in present day too. Sad more time that passes & those who've been there done that around to train new Skaters, the current one will be all that we have. Has zero lasting appeal for me.
Watching roller derby in the 70s, I saw a lot fights. To see the two teams congratulate each other after this game was a refreshing change of pace.

It was about 30% real and 70% fate had a friend who skated for the bombers

I'm a taxi driver in San Francisco and I don't have $150 for a Giants ticket 😐 I'll stick with roller derby for now I guess.
