Ep 1 A day in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) | Simhachalam Temple | Nellore Vari mess-Andhra Food Tour

- This video is about our 1st day of our Andhra tour, we spent the entire day in Visakhapatnam, We visited sea beaches, explored local food and visited the famous Simhachalm temple.
This video was shot on 10th jan 2023, We reached Vizag on 6th jan night and spent 3 days there but our video shoot work on this channel started from 10th jan.
During this period 6th jan to 9th jan , we travelled to different places in Vizag and explored food which are all thee in our other channel - Harish Bali Travels.
Following are the details of the places visited by us during this day’s tour - 10th Jan 2023.
Tenneti Park Beach - This beach is famous, you get a beautiful view of Bay of Bengal from height. This park is dedicated to Tenneti Viswanadham who had played an important role during independence.
Vasenapoli - We had Raagi (finger millet) Idli & Foxtail Millet idli - Rs 50 each.
Simhachalam Temple - This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, also known as Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Devasthanam.
Nellore Vari Mess - Popular restaurant for Andhra food which has separate dining section for veg & Non-veg, we had veg thali here - Rs 130 unlimited. During weekends, you will have to wait for your turn, it is crowded.
Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Sweets - Located in MVP colony, we had bobbatlu - Rs 12 per pc.
They also have many other Andhra sweets.
Then we head to Yarada Beach which is around 22 km from Ramakrishna Beach, another popular beach of visakhapatnam.
Yarada Beach - This beach does not have any water sports activity, you can have a good time here, when you are in visakhapatnam.
It will take you about 45 min to reach this sea beach.

Harish Ji, thank you for continuously pointing out the plastic and litter problem in India. The same people who litter in India would not litter in Europe or America etc because they would know the consequences of on the spot fines etc. Not littering should be taught at school so that children can educate their parents and when they grow up become responsible adults!
thing is educated ones are also the one who is littering everywhere.
this is problem of gov not people.. most of these public places are under gov control that never puts dustbins or empties them on time .. maintenance need to be privatised of public places...that is the only solution that wiill make the change possible...

Hi Sir, I am living in USA from past 10 yrs and my home town is Simhachalam. I follow your videos since 3 yrs and I am elated to see that you have visited our hometown.
Each time I watch your episode, I get filled with amazement that how many varieties of food Indian states offer! I think, one life is less to taste each and every variety of food served in our country. I am so proud of India, although we have a lot of differences in customs, clothes, and food, but, still, we are united and that makes India one of a kind union of states. I feel, your episode length is a little less than what people expect. Especially, I feel, I want to see a long episode (45 min-1 hr).
Harish Sir, please make videos at least 45 to 50 minutes. It will be liked by many people
So very true ! Though attacked from outside and being colonialised , we have withstood all that and retained our diverse culture , yes we are all united .
All the apparent divisions are nothing but political . Hope better sense prevails on all us Indians and we continue to remain as one big family ...

You are right in saying that people who throw plastic should be fined.Actually, government should ban it in ecologically sensitive places.
Vizag is one of my favorite cities with its clean, straight roads and great beaches.
Bay of Bengal is rougher than Arabian sea, and hence swimming is not recommended here.
Some points I will like to add, during the visit to Simhachalam, it is generally crowded on Saturdays. The darshan can be done in 3 ways, free, 100 Rs and 300 Rs darshan and accordingly the time of darshan.
Beautiful beaches!! Vizag is so blessed….hopefully we can keep our beaches cleaner.

Talking about rasam - it is usually served in the order of sambhar rice-rasam-curd rice (sadhhya in Kerala). Rasam has digestive properties and hence it is consumed in between. It has many health benefits like good for digestion, fever and cough/cold/body pain.

Yes Vizag is indeed enchanting. Beaches are always enjoyable. South Indian food is nutritious and light on stomach. Rasam is a good appetizer which can be had before lunch/ dinner too. Hello Harish Sir, This is one of the best episode of V2E. Especially the combination of you and Sea Beaches are exceptional with great and soothing background music. I would highly recommend you to please explore more sea beaches of South India
having "rasam" is one's choice. i personally prefer after having the food at the end. The reason (in my case) is any bloating feeling that one may get after having such a masaledar food, would be suppressed with the rasam.

If you are coming to South India then one thing you can not afford to miss is Rasam and Sambar. Each region in each state have very diverse version of it. To answer the question on whether to drink Rasam before food or after food. There is no hard and fast rule. I like taking few sips before I start wasting, it activates my taste buds and hunger. Then I eat it with bit of rice. Then I once again for few gulps as I end my meal. It basically works as a palate cleanser before I finally close the meal with buttermilk. It's upto each person, how he/she wants to enjoy his or her rasam.
We should find words to praise you Harish Bhai .....the work you r doing na...it's priceless....iam from Nellore...you had a lunch of Nellore vari lunch......enjoyed alot....thank you...keep going...God bless 🌹🙏🌹

Had tasted that Pudi ( Gun Powder Chutney) ten years back in Kakinada, I can feel that taste even now! Never got it in Mumbai or Pune nor at any MTR outlet.
