    Hey, you still at Estes? What's it like to be a yard dog over there? I been local pud, but want to chill from driving for now. I start Monday in Fort Worth, Tx. Any advice?

      @FreightHauler87  Před měsícem

      No, left 2 years ago. Yard Dogs move trailers around the yard. Since Fort Worth is now a large terminal, I’m not sure how busy you’re going to be. I expect you’ll be with other guys doing the same job. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

    Great info for new teammates! Think it took me from filling out application to hire was like 3 weeks. Then I was with a line haul driver for a week. But been running a 3/2. Take care Chris maybe see ya out here sometime. If ya know anyone in PA 055 is a great terminal

      Thanks! 3 weeks is a fast hire time. West Middlesex is a nice terminal. I’ve never had problems there. Stay safe

      Lol same here! I know each terminal is different, but Pittsburgh pa and West Middlesex pa are horrible. 2 and 3 hr wait times and not getting paid sucks!! Nothing against Estes, but I basically told them to go POUND SALT!! I'm a Full-time feeder driver for UPS now.

    What did your paychecks look like at Estes doing the otr? I'm currently working at FedEx Freight, but I have an interview coming up at Estes for an otr driver out of Dayton, Ohio.

    It would be nice if they paid for the food on the road for extra boards since we cant come back to the house every day to make our own food. Have they ever paid for the food on the road before?

    Just curious... When called in for an interview.... if hired after interview...... do you do in-cab/ pre-trip on engine/ road test?????? And then have to pass that in order to move on to DOT physical, back ground, test????? Or opposite? Do you take drug screen, DOT, back ground and then they call you in for pre-trip/ engine, in-cab?
    Thanks in advance

    • @FreightHauler87
      @FreightHauler87  Před 2 lety +4

      You don’t have to do any pre-trip/in-cab stuff. The “road test” is you driving the truck with the Linehaul driver. When you come in as regional/OTR, you typically run with Linehaul driver who gets home every day. You’ll drive, hook & break sets, and he’ll teach you what you need to know

      Guess it depends on the terminal. I had to pretrip everything, hookup a ser of doubles and drive a 10sp manual. Terminal 213 Ca. Just did it yesterday. Now going with a line haul driver tonight.
