Honda TT Legends: Joey Dunlop Tribute, A Legend Honoured

- To mark the 30th anniversary of Joey's Dunlop first Isle of Man TT win with Honda, his former team-mate and Honda TT Legends rider John McGuinness contested the Isle of Man TT Superbike race in tribute Dunlop livery.
The iconic red and black Joey Dunlop/Honda Britain design adorning the Honda TT Legends CBR1000RR Fireblade and McGuinness's leathers was based on that worn by Dunlop in his final Isle of Man TT in 2000. In the video, team manager Neil Tuxworth explains the project and McGuinness himself reflects on the honour of paying tribute to his road racing hero.

They picked a brilliant rider to pay tribute to Joey, John McGuiness another gentleman and someone also who never forgot where they came from
Wasn't Michael Dunlop in the same team as Mcguinness at the time? Definately should have asked Joey's nephew, no disrespect to John McGuinness.

It's gas; there was literally a Dunlop racing with Honda at the time and they still got John McGuinness to do the tribute.
They probably thought John was going to win he was the man around there at the time but really should of gotten Michael Dunlop to do the tribute, if anyone was going to do a tribute it should of been Joey's nephew and kept it in the Dunlop family.
McGuiness is a genuis no doubt but they should've had Michael ride that bike. He did win that class....

I have got a plack with joe dunlop all wins on his bike it is made out of welsh slate and another plack with all the wining that joe done i want to try and get them to ireland where the pub is.
I Think he won the race but got a 30 second penalty for speeding in the pit lane which made him 3rd… and he got lap record too I believe…. is that correct? Can somebody confirm it?
