    My theory for barnstormer is that it’s so short because it’s the first coaster most kids ride. Having a long ride on an entry-level coaster means more kids having to sit through a ride they hate or are sick on. No one wants that. It’s kind of genius to make the first coaster a shorter ride.

      Our very first trip in the late '90s relied on Fodor's! ;) With Trip Advisor, there are some reviewers that turn people off when reading their comments. The key is to use it as a sounding board. Like these 'bad ride' ratings, different people love different things. My wife LOVES the Tea Party! So you find a 'well-travelled' reviewer that seems to have similar likes and interests to yours. Then see what they have to say about things...

    • @operator8181
      @operator8181 Před 3 lety +7

      @@troyjollimore4100 Exactly, I'm sure a lot (sure, not all) of bad ratings on any website are just from peoples frustration. But when it comes to things like FastPass where you clearly have a very limited number per park per day if you fly by the seat of your pants and just pick a ride not knowing anything about it it is really the rides fault? My kids broke into rollercoasters with the Barn Stormer which I think is the target audience for that ride. Every attraction has a time and place.

I'm really surprised the Carousel of Progress didn't make the "meh" list. My family loves the storyline. Disney needs to add more “adult” rides to its parks. Yes it’s for families but the amount of boat rides and updated kiddie rides is just sad. Disney has everything they need to develop and produce thrill rides. I’m glad to see Tron and Guardians coming but they have the ability to produce a “fastest roller coaster in the world” like Kingda Ka. I’d love to see them take out Dinoland and do an extreme addition to a park! Just wishful thinking now with the pandemic though.

    So Mission: Space was a ride that my group was all for doing. I might be the one in the group that likes thrill rides the most (Ill ride Maverick at Cedar Point like 20 times a day if I can) and as were going through the line I keep seeing all the warning signs and Im like "huh, this might actually be a bit much." It was not. I feel like the people going on it either just dont do thrill rides or were expecting the generic disney world ride. I posted this before on one of your videos that went over thrill rides, but there really arent any "thrill" rides at DDW except maybe tower of terror.
    I remember we went on it a second time because the first was a super short drop and when the doors opened we were at the highest possible point. I go "Oh, ..." and everyone started cracking up before we dropped and all screamed. One of the best memories I have of going there.

    My son absolutely LOVED the Stitch ride when he was young, my wife and daughter, not so much. So, guess who always had to go on with him? Over and over and over, every time we went to Disney. I remember one trip we took to Disney, after we had called it a day in the park and had gone back to our room, my son commented he was sad we didn't go on the Stitch ride that day (it was our last Magic Kingdom day for the trip). So, being the good dad that I am, the two of us made the entirely too inconvenient journey back to the park and we were "lucky" enough to ride it 3 times in a row before the park closed. He's older now, but has a sentimental connection to the ride, so is sad it has been shut down. I guess, since I remember how happy he was that I took him back that night, I'm a little sentimental about it too.
    Also, Mission Space is awesome!

    ALWAYS read reviews and pay attention to what they're complaining about. "It's just Dumbos with dinosaurs/flying carpets/rockets" is very useful because if you have someone who loves the Dumbos, they'll love the others. The cars are 'meh' but a child would hardly call them 'worst'. Reviews are that...just one person's opinion. (Kind of like...I go to beach resorts to relax in the quiet so I look for reviews that say it's boring and there's no activities.)
