Wow m amazed at how you explained in details…doctors here in singapore can’t even explain to me why m having high platelets and its rising further that is coming close to 400. I really don’t know what to do n how to seek help for this condition. The head of that dept said it is genetic n no cause to this n was forcing me on bone marrow surgery without having to check if I’ve the secondary condition. Sort of disappointed with the doctor here in singapore…😢😭😭😭😢

I've just had a bone marrow biopsy 4days ago due to my platelets being extremely high, 1072. They've been over 600 & icreasing for 3 years but only now is there any action being taken. My Follow up is on the 11th December 2023. I still don't know what I have or what i should be doing until my appointment. I'm slightly concerned of having a heart attack or clot in my brain. Is there something I should do or take until my diagnosis?

Good afternoon dr. I am 36 yr male. From last 3 yrs i am suffering with my foot pains. and tightness in chest. My platelets counts form last 6 monts in between 4.5 laks to 5 lakhs. Just now my hematologist confirmed that i have ET ( Jack-2 mutation). and he suggested Ecosprin 75 mg only. However from last one month i am using the same medicine. But my dought is how my symptoms will gone. (Foot pains). Plz suggest

I have high platelets. Last bloodwork stated 625. I have a history of high platelets. Started in 1995. Had bone marrow biopsy. The doctors did not indicate anything. I was in the military. I moved to Pennsylvania and started seeing a tick doctor. I had 3 tick diseases, Lyme, babesia, and one of the erlichiosis. He started treating me with 3 antibiotics. All of a sudden, my platelets were normal. I was under treatment until he died in late 2021. Now my platelets are high and fluctuating between 500s to high 600s. Oh, I have bad liver enzymes. I don’t drink alcohol or take pain medicine. I am a diet controlled type 2 diabetic. I gave up vegetables because oxalates because were killing me. The doctor said I had arthritis but I didn’t want to take the medication and found out about oxalates. I am now a carnivore. Because of my liver and platelets I have given up cheese. I’ve been so tired, like exhausted. I just started eating beef liver. I ate a piece yesterday and ate 3/4 of a pound of it today. I can honestly say I feel pretty good. Yes I know I cannot eat a lot of liver but I may eat a pound of it next week just to see how I feel. I’ve been going to the gym 3 times a week hoping it helps. Maybe with the beef liver, that will help with the gym because up until now it had felt futile. I had breast cancer in 2016, surgery and radiation. I had ovarian cancer in 2019, it had not spread. I had surgery only.
Do you have any suggestions that I could do to help? I’m trying not to just treat symptoms. I want to find the cause and adjust.

@@labtechnicianclass78 thank you for the reply. My bone marrow biopsy was in 1995 at Waltereed army medical center in D.C.. things were not electronic back then. I was lucky enough to snag the slide. I gave it to my tick doctor but he died during covid so that’s long gone. From what I’m reading, i may have to get another biopsy. The first one was a nightmare. They literally had to straddle me to get the needle through the bone. I was so sick for 1 hour after the extraction. I’ve already resigned myself to having to get another one if things don’t turn around. I need to find a blood doctor who will work with me and figure this out. I know this could be potentially bad. In 1995, the military doctor made sure I understood how important it was to monitor my platelets, he said it could turn to cancer. It seems that the blood doctor I saw was not concerned and only wanted bloodwork once a year. I live outside of philadelphia now. Do you know of a good open blood doctor?
