- This is another episode of Andre Runs even though Alex Koehler is doing the running in the video. These are brand new Bowser RS3 diesels with dcc and sound out of the box and they are simply superb in both detail, quality, and in the way they run and sound. Alex takes them around this world-famous layout after Howard pastel weathered them. You can go to my PLAYLIST hit do it yourself videos to watch how Howard does this. Howard certainly knows how to build a beautiful layout, a true artist.
Always a treat watching you guys run trains.
Another great video of one of the best layouts ever!! Thanks for what you do to make these videos happen love watching the trains run thankyou
I have two Bowser RS3s painted for Boston and Maine. Seriously top notch locomotives and I'll do some light weathering to mine soon enough. Always love seeing excellent locomotives on Howard Zane's layout.
I know, it's funny I was never a fan of diesel-electric engines. I am a traction enthusiast...and I LOVE steam locomotives, too. It's only the last few months that I started paying attention to diesel-electric, powered trains, and now, I LOVE 'em to pieces. Those pair of double heading WM RS3 engines look great running on the world's most famous layout. Now I'm thinking of adding one, or more HO brass RS3 engines to my brass model train collection. 😊
Just simply more train greatness!
It's such a beautiful layout. The detail Howard put into this is incredible. The locomotives and cars are weathered to perfection.
This is why I feature it so often I believe it's a national treasure

Note: The signals and crossing gates do work (sometimes), but they are on a separate circuit and the guys operating the trains usually forget to turn on this circuit. The turnouts are also on a separate circuit. Everything is powered by 5 auto battery chargers that have worked flawlessly for over twenty years. My operators, Alex, Al. and Andre figured out how to operate this layout with little help from me as my back problem has kept me from the basement for long periods. Presently they know more about the functions of this pike than I do.
Takes your breath away!
Stunningly beautiful layout.
Very cool 🤩
I am a brass guy, but when something this good comes out in plastic or diecast, I can usually be sold and will acquire one or two. I do have brass RS3's and RS5's that run great but not as well detailed as this loco.
Very nice video, likes from me !
You can purchase these locomotives at Tommy Gilberts Hobby shop in Gettysburg PA or White Rose Hobbies in York PA both friends of the channel. Tell them you saw it on Al Pugliese Trains.
Both excellent stores
All of these hoppers are for sale sans coal loads. I cannot understand why my train make up crew chose what few plastic RTR cars I still have to use on this train. I have over 100 wood hoppers both kit and scratch built which look considerably better.....and if some disagree, remember the pride you get from either kit or scratch-building. The Bowser locos although RTR Plastic are just wonderful and then some....... and are some of the few exceptions to me playing with brass toys. I never really finished the weathering on the diesels as We were in a hurry to shoot video. Hoppers are $20 and I will not ship, but may be picked up here. I will offer bundle prices if several are purchased.
This layout is phenomenal. Its like the "layout you just have to have"😂ive seen some videos where the trains take quite a while 13mins or so to travel around the spread. Is there any longer travel time routes?
Yes 20 plus minutes! We are working to that end and once bugs are out will be filming longer runs. It's not just cleaning track there is a multitude of things but we will prevail
@@alpugliesetrains9753 thanks for reply, yea its understandable about the bugs to be sorted out and things to be done as its part of doing maintenance. Even for my "small in comparison" to that spread time is not always on my side to do what i want to do with my spread. But i go there anyway alwsys. As for you and Howards layout, keep up the good work
