As a beach lifeguard we were taught about the rule of 12ths to explain the speed at which tide floods and ebbs. It’s worth explaining it on your wonderful channel.
I have explained it in detail before and many people cannot get their head around it. People cannot work in fractions any more it seems.
As a novice learning I appreciate you showing how the line is tied. Even more detail including the knots and where to tie would be even better for me personally

My Mrs actually quoted you yesterday whilst we were fishing the pier. She said just like the fishlocker said "pointless both of us getting our hands dirty" whilst I was baiting up. Haha

Absolutely love the videos mate. Very similar style of fishing yet I live at the bottom of the world in Tasmania. Similar climate, similar coastline.

@@TheFishLocker Thanks for the kind words mate. Had a complete Achilles tendon insertion reconstruction, which meant taking the Achilles off the bone. Slow recovery. Back on the boat for Easter which will be nice.

What an excellent video! Those dolphins are so fun to watch, and as you said, 'brighten one's day' to be sure. Thank You for providing that to us. I personally think that it's easy to take for granted the amount of effort it takes to put together these videos. You make it seem easy. So many times I see a thumbnail of something that intrigues me only to be met with either zero narration, OR a robotic version that is just as bad. Your personality, plus the very interesting and informative content, make a winning combination. The words 'Thank You' inevitably recur in my thoughts when writing a comment for one of your videos. Best wishes for you and your family.
Near the end of the video you are bringing in a fish (the one where you mention 'planing' ) and the fish fights it some. I assume the reel has an adjustable tensioner, but even that I'm not sure. Can you go into that a little bit sometime in a future video? I like the new sonar too!
The fact that you can keep the presence of mind to turn the camera so we can get a better view of you torpedoing that Pollock back to the depths is commendable. :)

If I ever win the lottery I'm buying a boat to go fishing. I've never driven a boat in my life..I'll be getting lessons on boat safety and handling..and I'll get the Navionics app that John mentioned. And I bet I still blank coz John would have caught everything the day before and bunged it in his freezer..😂 John, your videos are so good, informative, well put together and just so easy to watch. I have a good idea how difficult boat handling is, got friends who are ex RM and RN. You make it look easy but explain how you do what you do and why. Safety, safety, safety. You need to be on Discovery channel not CZcams bud.❤

Great fishing really great to watch a pod of dolphins around the boat.i remember a good few years ago I went out with a mate down to torquay & weymouth up to about 60 mile in the channel & we had a pod of dolphins so the fishing stopped play for a short while as we were watching them had some cracking too really enjoyed the wrecking trips. I'm not superstitious, but I'm a _little_ stitious; I'm the type that sees dolphins and porpoises swarming around a boat, and can't help but feel it's a good omen for the day's sailing or fishing. You look like you had a blast and a half, though I'm sure that pollock would have ever-so-politely declined your invitation to tea if he'd only known he would end up like the Oysters the Walrus and Carpenter invited over! 😂🐟🥘

A good day's fishing John. Excellent explanation of how to catch and release pollack. It's so easy to try to bring a large one up as quick as you can from deeper water with the resulting fish that can't go back.

Hi John it's always good to have a foerage on the beach b for you fish or while your fishing. That is just somefin else watching dolphins when out on the boat. I remember many years ago I was out with a mate either down weymouth or torquay wreck fishing then a pod of dolphins appeared & well everyone stopped fishing for a bit to watch them it was so amazing to see also had a great days fishing as well caught loads of fish. great fishing vids mate tight lines happy fishing 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟🦈
