Hi, I a Dutch citizen and am presently watching the Dutch parliamentary debate on Corona.
One of the remarkable subjects which has received massive attention is our country's shortage of testing capacity.
Testing is an essential part of controlling the disease.
As it turns out, Roche is unable to produce enough lysis buffer to scale up the number of tests.
However, this buffer could be produced in the Netherlands, were it not for the fact that your company won't release the recipe.
This is developing into a PR disaster for your company and is likely to lead to evolving our health care system away from depending on Roche products, which will hurt your business in the long run.
I implore you to allow production of lysis buffer under license in the Netherlands, so that we can track corona better and keep it in check.
Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Als ze die tests niet geven, moet je dit bedrijf in de toekomst gewoon boycotten.

If this is true the best action would be to fire the topmanagement immediately and prosecute them. Needless to explain which other actiond should be taken

@@roche Hello, thank you for replying to my message.
I've just read your statement and read a news bulletin yesterday that said the recipe for the lysis buffer solution was already available online.
Still, I am really surprised by one major thing:
In the press statement, Roche says it doesn't guarantee safety or reliability of the test when reagents are made by others.
I can understand why no guarantees are given, but I find it very surprising that the statement doesn't say that you will help with safe and reliable production of any reagents that currently limit availability of tests to ensure that the maximum number of tests can be carried out. In this aspect, you are not doing what you can to ensure maximum results.
I am hoping that Roche will support and work together with other organizations to ensure that the maximum number of safe and reliable tests are being produced.
Again, thank you for any help you can provide with ensuring the safe and reliable production of as many test as possible.

@@roche I have just read that Roche is now working with the Dutch government to increase production of ingredients for tests. Thank you for taking this crucial step.
