    I’m just getting into fountain pens and started with Platinum Preppy pens but definitely want to grab some TWSBIs. I have sooooo many colors of the TWSBI on my wishlist so seeing them in this video was awesome 😍 love the Diamond Iris ! It looks amazing …the one I need to snag too is the Jade/Rose Gold oooomg lol it looks so pretty online 🖋️

      Oh and for the little ink samples: I bought an ink syringe and I just fill the syringe and then use the syringe to put the ink in the ink converter or ink reservoir of the pen. That’s been a game charger for getting every drop of ink from those tiny arse samples 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️

      I love TWSBI! I definitely think you’ll like them and they are durable too so you can definitely use them as an everyday pen. I have to check out the jade/rose gold but I love the Persian green and the cream rose gold one I have. The colors are so beautiful

    Welcome to the fountain pen hobby! Iroshizuku inks are great with fountain pens; I'm a big fan of them. But their best brown inks (Tsukushi & Ina-ho) are unfortunately discontinued. I recommend Robert Oster Caffe Crema or Gold Antiqua to match the TWSBI Creme Rose Gold. Thanks for the video!

    Japanese nibs are finer than European (including TWSBI) nibs. So a Pilot EF would be like writing with an Extra-Extra Fine Twsbi nib. If you want the equivalent of an European EF nib, then order a Fine Japanese (Pilot) nib. I went in the opposite direction. I owned Pilot pens first, so when I bought my first TWSBI, the ink flow felt like I was writing with a gushing fire hose. But I've since grown accustomed to the differences between pen makers. I have rarely experienced a defective TWSBI nib (only twice) but I find Pilot nibs to be of consistent high quality. Kaweco, on the other hand, is the least consistent---in my experience anyway. I own the most bottles of Diamine inks, but I also love Pilot Iroshizuku inks 👍🏻. When in doubt, order samples before investing in a full bottle. Very light inks can sometimes feel drier. My favorite ink for my TWSBI Eco - White Rose Gold, is Akkerman's SBRE Brown. Robert Oster's Caffe Crema has a yellow base, whereas SBRE has a more orange base (so it's warmer). Vinta's Fortaleza is a close 2nd to SBRE Brown. P.S. Your printing is so pretty!

      Yes I realized that after I bought it and returned it. I’ll have to try a different size again to see if I like it a little better. And thank you for the ink recommendations I have to add those to my list!

    Nice review. I too have the Crème in Fine and it’s a beautiful writer. I too am just getting into FP’s and I LOVE TWSBI.
    I think you said you have/had a Pilot VP ef and it was scratchy. I too have one and it can be, especially with dry inks.

      I want to try other fountain pens but TWSBI definitely has me in a chokehold 😭😭 && yeah I had it but I hated it so much I returned it. I use the pilot Iroshizuku ink and it wasn’t working and then I even tried the cartridge that came with it and it still didn’t write well.

      @@NeatPens I have a Diamond 580 - if i want to use a smaller volume of ink like a sample or clean it I remove the nib section and use a syringe. Have you learned how to maintain the pen body so the plastic retains the beautiful clear look of a new pen?

    • @NeatPens
      @NeatPens  Před 8 měsíci

      The first TWSBI I had has lasted a while and still looks great. If you like to carry your pens around I would suggest a carrying case so it’s not banging against other items and possibly getting scratched. Otherwise keeping them at your desk/office. That’s what I do and I don’t have any issues.
