An old man and a young man fighting over a yard sounds less like a Wrestlemania main event and more an episode of Steptoe & Son.
You mean Sanford and Son?
@@willshad No
Roman, you big dummy!
Yeah, you're gonna have to Google Steptoe and Son now, pal
@@willshad Steptoe and Son was a British sit com that started in the 1960s about London scrap men it was great.
He had his moment, 20-0, walking off with paul and shawn, would have been the perfect end
Possibly the greatest run of them all.
His match with CM Punk was also amazing
He should never have lost the streak cause even if anyone else has a title run & just turns up once a year, they,ll never last 20 years. he coulda lost to Brock & Roman at summers;lam or Survivor, put them over somewhere else. By the time it came to dream matches with Punk and Bray, no one cared. After .his DX & Goldberg matches, dont take him to saudi again.
4:51 - A moment of comedy genius! Shows image of Lordi, the Finnish rock band that won Eurovision in 2006 - text talks of Lorde, the Kiwi female singer songwriter that had a hit with Royals in 2013. Of course it was deliberate and that is why it is comedy genius!
Banya is the greatest doing it, by a country mile.
Yes! 🌛
The sound of the creaking gate as Taker attempts the Tombstone. Perfection.
His final match against AJ Styles was the send off he deserved. The cinematic match came along at the right time. Who’d of thought a TNA legend would of given him a better send of compared to all those Hall Of Famers
It was great because Styles has been known for years as one of the best in the world AND it was an actual movie. It took us into the Undertaker's world and they were able to go above and beyond in terms of production quality, moves, preparation, and even redos. He's one of the greatest ever and we miss him in the ring, but he got to have a good send-off that was truly badass 🤘
I remember The Wrestlemania where Taker fought HHH in Hell in a Cell an d Taker looked in amazing shape and moved pretty well. Hard to believe just 5 years later he looked like this.
That's the heavy roid use for you. Be a juicer, get squeezed in the ring until nothing is left, and you shamble around aimlessly with dementia as a 54 year old man in an 85 year old body. How he lasted this long is beyond me. Entropy always comes for the lamest gimmicks first.
I wouldn’t call taker a real heavy road user it just more that he was beat the fuck up from going super hard at a much later age than normal
He was moving fine after getting his hip replacement. He had the match with cena after this and tagged with reigns . Looked and moved much better and faster.
while brock didnt need to beat the undertaker, he didnt let it go to waste. when he came back a year or two before and lost to cena, he was just another guy. after the taker match, he went on to squash cena at summerslam. he evolved into the final boss level brock and the shine has never seemed to fully leave him since. even though hes part time, every time he comes back you 100% believe he might murder whoever he is up against. the whole part timer breaking the streak was a blessing in disguise, the more they were around the higher chance they would have run it into the ground.
Yeah, it wasn't a bad choice. The only negative is that Brock was already in his late 30s at the time, and you knew his shelf life as a 'final boss' would be short lived, made even worse by the fact that he's part time.
Short lived? Dude's still around nearly 10 years after he broke the streak. That's the same length of time as Hogan pinning Iron Sheik for the Title and then finally leaving the fed in 1993.
I didn't want the streak broken, and really didn't want Brock to be one to do it, but yeah he has owned it, and made it work.
That "shine" you talk about...... Brock already had it when he came back after UFC..... But they pissed it away having him job to Cena for his first match back...... And then pissed the Streak away trying to bring it back. They should have just protected Brock from day one and saved the streak for someone that needed it.
Said it before but, rather than Brock at WM30; we should have had Cena/Taker for what would have been the ultimate 'will he/won't he', 'keep 'en guessing' streak match and had Cena do the job (Would have saved The Wyatts from being buried by Cena too). Then finally have Taker lose to Reigns the following year to end the streak and kickstart a massive Reigns heel turn and capitalise on all the heat he already had with the fans.... Then he and Brock could have spent the next few years feuding; The Streak Breaker vs the legit, UFC conquering real deal, Beast...... It would have made their encounters way more compelling as they would have both had 'bigger than titles' accolades to lean upon.
Either Reigns or you commit to The Wyatts as a long term proposition and have Bray end the streak and go on to take that supernatural boss mantle.
Taker v Ballor as The Demon would have been a cool combo of gimmicks too; but perhaps not one to end the streak over.
Kills me that Cena/Taker just didn't mean that much by the time that it happened.
BanyaBat is great, all of the editing of these videos is amazing but this one in particular is fucking perfect
I was at this wrestlemania and i promise you all anyone cared about by this point was how the hell are we getting out of here, transport options etc
anyone else watching this thinking:
A: what in the actual living F**K happened to Chris Jericho between 2017 to when AEW started only 2 years later?
B: This version of Roman looks even worse than it did back then, given what he's ascended to in the last 3 years?
time truly sorts everything out!
As a former Jericho fan of several decades…that’s the biggest thing I pulled away from this video.
🍻🍻🍾
The Roman Reigns mega-push literally made me stop watching WWE for years after Wrestlemania 32. I don't know if it's possible for it to look "even worse".
I've always said that he should have retired at wrestlemania 28. Perfect ending.
he came back.
Man, this video is very different in tone to SuperEyepatchWolf's video essay on The Undertaker...
Also, Shawn Michaels with a shaved head is an unfathomably cursed image.
He looks like a baby bird nowadays when he takes off his hat and shirt 😂 it's crazy how he suddenly went bald when he had that full head of hair for decades
It's weird in wrestling how you have people like Minoru Suzuki who can wrestle insanely well into their 50s and then you have people like Undertaker who can't go like they used to.
Big men tend to age worse than average or small men. There’s more stress on their joints etc etc. Minoru Suzukis diet is probably a million times better than the Undertakers as well, if he’s eating an average Japanese diet.
the undertaker never really wrestled until he was very old, mostly just lariats and tombstones pile drivers. so there's a bit of a difference since Sasuki who was trained by Frank Gotch, and undertaker who was trained by Buzz Sawyer and according to wikipeida "he disliked Sawyer, who reportedly lacked commitment and provided a limited education"
@@glitchsister WTF? What on earth are you talking about? I remember Undertaker before he was even in the WWF. Everything you just said there is absolute bs lol. Well, everything about not wrestling until very old anyways lol
Big guys don't age as well, especially if they're athletes. They're like great danes.
" Roman is a H0I0caust denier"
LMAO That made me lol so hard mixed with the price is right "fail" sound effect. Pure gold
First channel that I remember to hit like button. And if I forgot. I come back again and hit it! Love you guys!
The Boneyard type match was something WWE shoulda been doing a few years earlier for guys like Taker. They have movie studios and never explored the idea of doing these type of things until covid came along.
A Taker v Sting boneyard/movie match coulda been amazing viewing.
Honestly, now you mention it, and here me out, I'd love to see a Firefly Fun House match between Sting and Bray, just because there's so many different versions of Sting to go through.
13:56 The crowd-sign "ROMAN IS A HOLOCAUST DENIER" 🤣
0:41 Does that make him The Underdog?
Never sat in the queue for a video so fast
I’m thirsty for more content!
Undertaker is a good example of the toxic mindset of "the show must go on." He was in no condition to face Roman or anyone at WM. He should have just said no to Vince and retired early, while he still had some dignity. But he was too stubborn and looked at what happened. And you can tell Roman did not want to feud with Taker. He knew it was going to end badly, but Vince had the last word, and Poor Roman became even more hated than he already was. Both men looked bad and all because Vince and Taker were being too bloody stubborn.
I can tell that Undertaker badly needs a hip replacement just from how he's walking. It's insane he tried to wrestle in that state.
I need a boglin.
Always learning something new when I watch this channel. This time I learned the plural of scrotum is scrotums OR scrota... Either will work. 👍 Entertaining AND educational! Never change, @WrestleMe ❤
Wrestleme Ending
Well that was a fine and fun episode
"ROMAN REIGNS IS A HOLOCAUST DENIER" 😂😂😂😂 💀 ☠️ 💀 ☠️
Perfect note to end on
"There's no way six million people filled the Pontiac Silverdome, Hogan"
"Brother, that's hate speech, and I know a lot about hate speech."
Bald Shawn Michaels still haunts my nightmares.
When Taker moves in that match, I just hear Sweep from Sooty vocalising every mocement.
When he moves he moves like I do and I need a hip replacement. That seems like a suboptimal condition to be in for a Wrestlemania main event.
GREAT Show Gents! 💚👍
The current Roman Reigns heel character should have been the version they went with after the "THIS IS MY YARD NOW!" promo on the following night's RAW.
That Lorde had me rolling
Slug Jericho 😂😅😂
Does Banya make the thumbnails too?
Yessir
So, did this passing of the yard mean that Roman took over precedence over Wrestlers' Court?
Nah, it meant inheriting the "I'm gonna show up a handful of times per year and get paid more than the rest of you" tradition
@@Loe_Jist lmao hey it's a living. or an unliving in this case
I’m truly unsure if The creaking sounds were accidental or British humor at its best
Man did Jericho let himself go, he is looking like 2005 Triple H lol.
Fans know Undertaker is old and his body is broken down and i'm sure they didn't mind at all. The spectacle of seeing a legend was probably enough. He definitely should have made that his last match though.
WWE fans are too generous in their praise of the Undertaker.
The guy had sucky matches for the last decade of his career.
He didn't put the guys over, instead he hogged the spotlight.
I don't get this overwhelming support for someone who was the epitome of a one trick pony, sports entertainer.
"He'll be back.."😅😂
They should have turned Roman heel instantly after Wrestlemania. He was the most hated man in wrestling and they missed out.
He was the most hated man in wrestling long before then. His mega-push annoyed me so much I didn't watch WWE _for years_ after Wrestlemania 32.
I hope Banyabat knows that he is loved.
I do now, Donnie ❤️
I’m just waiting for this to feature on an episode of “Nightmare Neighbour Next Door” on Channel 5
More auld UK graps, please, lads - the WWE's stories have been told to death, but there's so much storytelling and context to be done for World of Sport!
HBK has a gigantic napper...
Creaky door auditioning for co-host at 09:00...
This was a passing of the torch match, they wanted Roman to be the next undertaker, the biggest star in wrestling, it was two huge wrestlers going head to head, McMahon loves a clash of the titans.
He also loves pissing off the fans.
I used to be a huge Taker fan. It doesn’t feel the same knowing the man holds the record for most shit matches
We Outchere
Undertaker. Big Evil or Big Elvis?
He made more money, just in his last 10 matches then some of us will in our lifetime..especially those Saudi shows.
Shawn Michaels said he was lured out of retirement because the Saudis offered him $2 million for that one tag team match. I'm sure it was the same for the other 3 guys. That's about how much some of the top WWE wrestlers make in a year. The Saudis have unholy amounts of money and they're ready to throw it around.
I hope at some point I hope Taker said "get off my lawn".
Heesssss baaaaaaaaaacck !
Lorde were icelandic
Wasnt lordi from Finland
Roman wasn't the guy taker should've had this match with, should've put him with a guy like Styles a veteran who could bump around him rather then a guy he had to bump for. Romans match with triple h was worse though so theres that
Aww man now it's 20:00! 😢
That's all fine and dandy regarding the Undertaker but let's be honest, Pete, you shouldn't have gone and kissed your wife in 28 Weeks Later.
I knew I wasn't the only one who saw thru Pete's disguise....
................................. He'll be back
Rubbish, lets see what where going to do to them monkeys TODAY 👍
He was lucky that covid came along??? 😅😅😅
Undertaker was given a proper send-off in the form of a final movie match against Styles. It honestly would've been tough to watch him in the ring one last time in a normal match. The silver lining of the pandemic lockdowns was how it kept that from happening.
The streak should have had a match with the great Muta but now both are to broken down to do it sadly
Undertaker stunk the joint out for the first 6 or 7 years and he stunk the joint out in his last few years as well. Thank God we got that Roadhouse-esque cinematic match with AJ Styles
I know it wasn't at Wrestlemania, but the slobberknocker Taker and Goldberg had at Crown Jewel was incredible. Quite possibly the greatest match of both mens careers. How it didn't get a 7+ star rating absolutely blows my mind!
Taker was perfectly fine when he debuted. He was portrayed as almost invincible, and wasn't meant to put on five star classics. He played the character well, got over, and did impressive moves, and that's all that was expected.
I'd rather it was Kellett vs Breaks.....
Roman just isn’t that hood, undertaker is long since past any ability to pull off a match and to be carried through by Roman made it all the more saddening.
As for matches with HHH, wow, he’s a guy who really really-ah never-Ah should have been-Ah, a champion-ah!
As for the Goldberg match, to be fair he was seriously concussed and unable to continue and they should’ve called an audible and just ended it asap, maybe a DQ or a quick time heel turn by the next biggest star they had…. They should by now know they need a back up plan to moments that fail on a big live ppv show
Carder needs another shot at the strap
Wrestle me jojo
Euro trash .
Haven't even thought about that for 30 years.
🤣
You mean that iconic theme tune doesn't enter your head on a daily basis?
We all know The Undertaker will be back in that ring again at some point he doesn't know what the word retire means
No way, he's just too old and - (sound of truck laden with Saudi money backing up in the distance) - aw, shit. It's on!
@@brianm2881 Mate he was too old when he wrestled brock and he still contiuted mate ric flair is in his 70s and wrestled
@@Sam.Gaming I was more making a joke on how you can get pretty much anyone to wrestle for the right price.
@@brianm2881 Yeah if Hunter offers money he will be back
@@Sam.Gaming Flair's real retirement match in my mind will always be him vs Michaels from back in 2009. I'm trying to convince myself that all of the bad "final" matches and embarrassing things he has said and done since then are because of CTE and decades of alcoholism.
Quite why the decision was made to let Lesnar of all people end the streak is beyond me. The tbh, should have never ended, and 'Taker should have retired at Summerslam, came in at Summerslam, left at Summerslam, a full circle thing...
He came in at Survivor Series bro...
@@morrnmanderson7376 He did, my bad. lol. Still so much rage at Lesnar taking the Streak...
Wrestling has been god awful for 25 years
Mark is kinda a drama queen cry baby. The dude has so many millions. A smoking hot wife, probably my age?! Seen the world.... he takes himself to serious
I agree: I think Pete's the better Wrestle Me presenter too. Marc can keep his millions and his beautiful wife, I'm team Diggery Donnie all the way. (Ever feel like you've been treated?)
It has to be frustrating being an aging athlete, though. In almost any other field, being 40 is relatively young, but in athletics it's 'retirement' age'. I imagine it's difficult to accept doing something totally different with your life when this is all you;ve ever done and you;re still relatively young.
@@tomhaynes5999it’s like you’ve been waiting your entire life for this moment.
You couldn’t ask for a better lay-up.
Billy Jack was too scary, so Marc'll have to do.
