What a debut for Jack Flaherty! 🔥🔥🔥
What a horrible 4 game set for the BLOW JAYS!
You think Flaherty *won this game* as opposed to the Jays blowing it? 😂🤡
@@papwithanhatchet902 I’m saying he had a solid debut. We’re not worrying about how the jays did he still did good. Cut the toxicity bud
@@papwithanhatchet902 The Blow Jays didn’t get a chance to blow Mountcastle because he was mounting them all series! 🤣😆🤭
@@papwithanhatchet902yeah, he pitched pretty well. Everyone here just watched it. Some of us for the second time.
Ever since Adley Rutschman came to the majors, the Orioles have never been swept.
Yeah, I think Flaherty will fit in with the rotation just fine
A former red bird helped orange birds to beat blue birds led by a former orange bird.
Bird is the word
I see what you did there
Ryan Mountcastle is on one of the most impressive stretches of hitting I’ve seen in recent memory, dude absolutely owns the Blue Jays
Whatever it is about playing Toronto that turns Mounty into Barry Bonds needs to be carried into the rest of the season
@@hankfairchild7951it’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s not luck, either. I mean it’s obviously not but he also works counts, goes to the opposite field.
It’s maddening that he can turn out a MVP effort against only one team in the league. And even more so that it’s mostly only in Toronto that it happens.
Jays should sign him when they get a chance or trade for him. They play 80 games at Rogers Cente
As an M's fan... I hope the O's take it all this year! 🙏 I dig ya'll
Thanks Bro! The Mariners ain't bad in my book either. I'm hoping we get it all this year too! Salute 💯💯
Respect. I’m 40, grew up in Baltimore and Ken Griffey Jr and Cal Ripken Jr were my heroes…I know Cal personally, played ball at his stadium here in Aberdeen many times..he’s an AWESOME dude
🧡🖤
Thanks for the well wishes! Rootin for your M's, too.
As an O's fan, much respect to you.
Sad to see Jack leave the cardinals, but I really hope to see this kind of success continue.
He is still flying, and higher in orange.
Crazy dude. Crazy
Most cardinals fans are happy he’s gone.
Eso es ponche y ponche Toronto que lo pasa
@@Hacksaw_HIM_Thuggin why?
Flaherty is the guy we needed, and him having Adley is like a mirror-version of Yady.
Good debut and good win!
The Jays make average pitchers look like Cy Young. I wouldn’t get too excited about Flaherty yet. The team gets an average of 5 hits a game.
@@aposthole5226that’s what Yankees fans were saying about Grayson Rodriguez’s start against them that, “oh our lineup makes any pitcher look like a cy young candidate.” Seems like everyone in the division just can’t accept that the Orioles are good and that they’re staring rotation has turned into a pretty good one.
@@ArkticNFL The Orioles are the best hitting team with runners in scoring position. They are good defensively and their pitching staff is above average. No real ace but I would take them over any team in the east. The Blue Jays ruined their team. I would bring up a few players from Buffalo that can make contact with the ball. The Jays are easy to pitch to. They have a good pitching staff and defence. That’s it.
No bats as usual. Our pitching is being overwhelmed by our poor batting. Basically our pitchers have to carry the team and duel with the opposing pitchers until one of our bats manages to get a run halfway throughout the game or something. This is unacceptable at this level
As a Jays fan, I’m jealous to see what the Orioles have done. I’m a fan of most of their players, they’re over performing for where they were forecast to be, they’re solid, have good approaches in their at bats and deserve to be in first place. Then there’s the Jays. They’re uninspiring, under performing, brutal with runners in scoring position, easy to pitch to and aggravating to watch. If it wasn’t for their pitching and defence they’d be absolutely atrocious. Vladdy does not look like a superstar, he looks average. Springer is going through an absolute horrific stretch, Varsho was traded for a top prospect and Gurriel Jr. and often is on the bench depending on match ups, they’re unable to move runners over, and are impotent when it comes to runners at 1st and 2nd with nobody out. You almost know they’re going to fly out, strike out, then ground out to end the inning. I’m finding them to be very hard to get behind. It’s a team without a heartbeat.
Lot of them got PAID = 🥱 time
They are too worried about buying cars and houses now
The BLOW JAYS BLOW! 😆
Their approach at the plate is absolutely horrendous, they chase so many bad pitches and can't hit a fastball right down the middle. Hitting coach needs to go. It's pathetic how they look at the plate, what we're they 2 for 28 with risp this series? And like 8 for 65 on the homestand? It's just getting beyond pathetic. Don't know why a big bat wasn't traded for, instead they picked up 2 relievers and a shortstop...3 fairly useless trades, I like all 3 players but would have rather seen a .260/25-30 hr/80-90 rbi guy because that's what they needed
@@emupike6it is no mystery indeed why things aren't happening when runners on base and no outs. Every one is following Guerrero's wrong leadership by trying to hit a 5 run homer. And they don't have a manager that can impose discipline, Schneider is not the guy they needed. Last year's postseason was the telltale sign.

MAGIC!! MAGIC!! MAGIC!! MAGIC!!
Dude is everywhere
Flaherty is a better pickup than l thought and the Orioles didn’t give up too much for him. If he keeps this up, l would love to see the Orioles resign him and he could be a good piece for this rotation moving forward.
Me too. But I read somewhere that he was saying (before this trade to Bal) that he wanted to hopefully have a west coast team sign him to a good deal this off-season. Guess he’s from there. It was one of the MLB guys saying this, so it has merit since these guys talk about that stuff. If true, East coast is a tough sell. But…money talks, and, getting to the WS might just give him a taste and change his mind. We’ll see.
Interesting. We’ll see.
@@mloftus8618interesting. Good to know that 👍
Flaherty is an very important trade for Orioles, they have young and good sluggers, impressive bullpen, all they have to do is having Ace for SP to pitch at least 6 innings
This feel like 83 magic ha ha ha 😂
Seriously much love to all the baseball fans cheering on the O's as a sports fan we want to see our team win or if not them the best team win 🧡🖤🧡🖤
Mountcastle with a series for the ages. Absolutely OWNED Blue Jays pitchers this week.
He owns them every series. He has the highest OPS of any player EVER versus the Jays.
I was watching a live chat during the trade deadline. The second my O’s cut a deal for Flaherty, a guy in the live chat simply said “the Birds just won their division.” God, I hope that’s true and the O’s go all the way.
It must be a great time to be an O’s fan. I love their team and the farm system is loaded too. In all my decades of watching the Jays, I can’t recall being so frustrated with them. They’re going no where this season and the O’s just absolutely took them out to the woodshed in this series. Jays we’re lucky to get 1 win.
@@mccullochmike I hear ya buddy. I’ve never had a chance to see the O’s go all the way so if they do it, I’ll be elated. At least you and I can revel together in one thing: the Stankees are at the bottom of the division. 😎
I'm a Yankee fan. But Orioles are pretty solid. No.2 in power ranking. Keep up. Solid O's
Blue Jays need a new hitting coach
They need new hitters. The new coach will use the same analytics .
New gm and pres. Shapyro must go
So I just checked the stats, and the Jays hitting coach has ZERO at bats...........
@trevoravery9270 wow you're so insightful thank you for saying this twice and on every other comment that knows sports ❤️❤️❤️
As a Mets fan please O's take it all and destroy the Yankees in the process
Flaherty is the only SP i wanted the Braves to trade for. Mark my words. Dude is going to deal with Baltimore.
I'm still pissed Cito Gastin didn't let Mike Mussina pitch in the all star game in 93. 😂😂
At Camden Yards too.
Welcome to the Orioles, Jack! ❤
Happy for Orioles ⚾. 40 yrs since World Series Win. Almost every year. Last place. 100 losses.
good to see jack do good. as a cardinal fan seeing how up and down he's been over the years for us is something that haunts us I guess. he had a phenomenal 2019. Wish the injury bug didn't get him. Hope he does well for the orioles. same with dejong for the jays
RUTSCHMAN very good swing
Jays never fail to disappoint
As a Jays fan I don't like what I'm seeing. Desperate times call for desperate measures - I think they need a change at the position of hitting coach.
Good pitching beats good hitting, but as a long-time Orioles fan I feel your pain. The 200's was characterized by lots of hits, not enough timely hits.
LETS GO BLOW JAYS!
I think they need a change at the position of hitters. The coach isnt the one taking at bats. The coach isnt telling Vladdy to swing at EVERY first pitch he sees, regardless of inning or situation.

My how the turntables! - Ricky LaFleur
Time two turnips in heat.
I haven't watched this much baseball since Cal retired
Because you're a fair weather fan.
As usual, the Jays refusing to help Gausman. Before the game started, I knew they would be useless. Perhaps the manager should set a curfew for the whole team the night before he plays, to ensure that they are not asleep on the field.
Really doesn’t matter cause gausman stunk.
When the Jays bring in Thomas Hatch in a 3-1 game, they're basically forfeiting the game.
When you're as healthy as the Jays have been with a $200+ million payroll and you've given up on winning the division in early July with two teams ahead of you having $60 & $70 million payrolls, you should be f**kin embarrassed.
If they can't compete for the division, what makes them think they can win a World Series? Backing your way in as a wildcard and hoping you get hot isn't a good strategy.
At least we’re not the Yankees 🤷♀️
@@Andrew-nu4hi If Judge didn't miss like two months due to injury, they'd be ahead of the Jays.
No
Front office needed to trade for a bat and instead picked up 2 relievers and a shortstop...none of which was needed...it's a joke
@@emupike6 I don't think they had the assets to trade for a bat or two without giving up all their top prospects. Their farm system has been an issue for years.
A lot is being made of Mountcastle hitting so well against Toronto and rightfully so. But this series is just part of the hot streak he’s been on since coming off the IL because of a bout with vertigo. He’s 23 for 50 since coming off the IL. He said he was seeing 3 baseballs when he was trying to hit back in June. He’s been hitting the ball hard consistently since he recovered. I hope it continues for the rest of the season. His approach has been excellent and it’s great to see him get rewarded.
He didn't have vertigo, he was swnging at balls outside of the strike zone and opposing pitchers knew it so they never threw him strikes. He just got coached to stop swinging at balls. The Orioles coaching is getting better.
@@CasiodorusRex right because nobody would’ve coached him not to swing at balls outside of the zone before. That makes complete sense 😏
@@CasiodorusRexNo, he did have vertigo. Yesterday, he talked about how much easier it is to hit because he's not seeing 3 baseballs at once.
@@diplomat022 Adam Jones chased balls outside the zone every at bat and never took walks. Why didn't anyoone coach him?
@@CasiodorusRex totally different regime. Try again
And the hits keep coming! These guys are for certain something special! Watching this recap all I can do is shake my head in wonder 😂. Can't say I've ever seen anything like this. As a fan of Baltimore I've always had this nagging feeling of ok they're doing great but.... We've had so many disappointing endings, sorta like "the red headed step child". Not this time, been such a thrill to watch!
Not to take anything away from Flaherty but at best he is a high 3’s ERA guy. He will have flashes of dominance but for whatever reason he’s never able too maintain it consistently.
What the AL will learn to do is not to swing and let the walks pile up! Once that starts his pitches start climbing up in the zone where they get hammered!
In recent years, true - but he has pitched to full seasons in the 2 ERA zone - pretty elite potential. And he's still 27 - entering his prime.
@@rugbyslug oh I agree the potential is there! I hope he thrives to be honest, I don’t believe he ever really wanted to be in STL so trading him was a good move, although they should have traded him a couple years ago when his value was much higher! Same with O’Neil!
Pitching here in STL I always felt he wasn’t living up to his full potential either from personal reasons or even our coaching staff. I always saw him like Carlos Martinez both had crazy potential but Martinez always seemed preoccupied with what his next hair color would be vs working on his craft.
Obviously I’m not in the club house so I’m just giving it my perspective as a fan but I really hope to see Flaherty thrive!
O's are quietly the 2nd best team in the MLB. I don't think they are getting enough respect for what they are doing so far and that is perfectly fine. Hyde should be given Manager of the Year if they keep this going into the playoffs!
They are looking that way. Great job of developing players from their farm system and the draft
I dont know a ton about the city of Toronto, i googled it and noticed it said the Mayor of Toronto is Ryan Mountcastle 😂😂😂😂 The jays had 13 hits this whole series, Mouncastle had 11 😂😂😂 one guy had almost as much hits as a team
The BLOW JAYS didn’t get a chance to blow Mountcastle because they were too busy getting mounted by him! 🤣😆🤣

Job security is never guaranteed, unless of course you're the hitting coach of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Shoulda been a sweep…I’ll take 3/4 though
great game to be at today!! 🧡
Ryan Mountcastle is the Blue Jays father.
11-13, 1.931 OPS in the series. Unbelievable.
Who cares, the O's haven't won the World Series since 1983. By comparison the Blue Jays won the World Series more recently than the O's did as the last time the Jays were World Series champs was in 1993.
Sure celebrate being the Jays daddy. I'll be laughing when the Rays knock off the O's in the playoffs though because the Rays are a better playoff team than the O's and will defeat the O's in Baltimore. Rays are the O's PLAYOFFS DADDY.
@@arthurau9231 Dwelling doesn’t do anything.

Thanks, I wasn't sure which teams were playing.
Ryan Mountcastle is the Father of the Toronto Blue Jays and it's not even a meme anymore
Not gonna lie, I was a bit apprehensive about my Orioles picking up flaherty with all his injury problems. But man did he absolutely kill it in this debut. Even if it’s for a short time, we have a decent ace.
Orioles Magic in 2023!
Wow I can't believe how easily Baltimore has dominated Toronto this year. They are now 8-2 against the Jays. In no particular order, I got the 4 best teams in AL after deadline as Baltimore, Texas, Houston, and Tampa. The playoffs are going to be so good and I think 1 of those 4 teams will represent the AL in the WS against the Braves or Dodgers, but which AL team will it be? It's gonna be so hard to predict.
Ask the script writers
And they are 0-7 against the Red Sox.
@@markd8469 yeah and the crazy thing is they still hold a wildcard spot as of now and will probably make the playoffs as the last WC team but I think Seattle is coming on strong now and could be there at the end
Welcome to Bmore Mr Flaherty!
Thank you Daddy O's, can't wait for the next beating 😘
I get second hand EMBARRASSMENT watching these Jays batters at the plate...No disrespect to the Orioles pitchers, but these Blue Jays batters get themselves out... All the opposing pitchers
need to do is throw the ball low and outside off the plate & the Jays will consistently chase & get themselves out... No discipline whatsoever...Yikes!!
Orioles own the poverty franchise
The Blue Jays are worth 2.1 BILLION dollars so I wouldn't call a 2 TIME World Series Champions as a poverty franchise. You don't know how to win with sportsmanship or professionalism.

Why was the catcher allowed to sit on the 3rd base line instead of protecting the plate like he’s supposed too on the hays collision

I can't stress enough how bad the Jays are. They blow it with runners in scoring position 95% of the time. Bull pen is disgraceful and that's all folks.

These Orioles are on a tier higher than the Blue Jays. Do need to point out though that many of their current young guns were picked up while dishonourably tanking from 2018 to 2021 to get the best draft picks. Glad the new lottery system is in place to discourage that distasteful practice.
