  • It makes more money than Trump and it's sexier than an explosion in Barry Whites' pants. It's also about to disappear forever, so now's the time to get the USS Missouri if you possibly can.
If you don't want to listen to the historical stuff and ship review, the action starts at 20:23

Oh my God, Jingles, please bring back these kind of videos with historical background of ships, aircrafts or tanks. They are pleasing to listen to and very informative, and this coming from the biggest Wikipedia user of this side of the hemisphere.
Amazing job as always, keep it up!

One quick additive to Jingles' description: One of the reasons why the NA community calls the Missouri the Trump-Wagon is that the USS Missouri was among the first sites where Donald Trump started his Presidential run. At that time, the similitude "Getting on the Band-Wagon" was the image of Trump on the USS Missouri, representing Trump's popularity with the US Military and general Defense community - and eventually became "Getting on the Trump Wagon". A lot of US Military and Defense employees visibly put Trump paraphenalia on their cars, in their yards and even on company grounds, and dared liberals to pull their shenanigans . A running theme was that the Insurance companies were raising their rates because of how much vandalism the liberals were doing destroying and stealing anything with a Trump sign on it. We had a banner outside one of our plants continually vandalized, replaced, spray-painted, then just plain stolen, and replaced again, before security finally installed another flir to cover the blindspot, and caught the libtard. Interesting times. I really wish Jingles talked more about the technological innovations on ships like the Missouri, and their legacy from systems integration to the internet; most of the labs and people who developed everything from the transistor to ARPANET made their names in the US Weapons and systems development programs in WW2 and Korea or were US Military veterans themselves, and are now know as Giants in the history of Engineering; from Shockley and Hopper to Vint Cerf and Seymour Cray.

I know I'm almost two years late and in all likelihood no one will see this comment, but I just had to say excellent historical info at the beginning of the video. The Missouri is my favorite battleship of all time and I must admit that I choked up a bit about the Japanese kamikaze pilot given a burial at sea with full military honors and that the Missouri's forward turrets now watch over the Arizona.

Have you noticed that she is the Korea version of the Mighty Mo. You can tell since the aircraft catapults have been removed.
Second item is that the Pearl Harbor Museum did not buy her, they instead rent her for $1 Dollar a year and are required to keep her in a ready reserve status.

One fial point on the Mighty Mo. Congress passed a law that requires the US Navy to maintain the Iowas to a point where they can be put back into service until a 'suitable replacement' is made for gunfire support. That requirement has not been met and the Iowas have not ben 'demilitarized' although their powder for the 16" guns is so unreliable that it is not really practical to do so.

It would be hilarious if WG made an event where people could play using Iowa BB in proposed 2020 refit for return to active duty of all remaining Iowas. They plan full computerization that will reduce crew number significantly and removing aft main turret. That last modification would give them a lot of place to add a heck lot of Tomahawks vertical lunch systems.

He carried a section of wing from that plane in his wallet until he passed. During the war the 16 in crews were good enough that the standard the Capt. required was to be able to his a single bed sheet (tied between two floats) with no more than the second round per barrel at maximum range. A point of pride was that no combat deaths occurred on board the Mo during the entire war.

I lost out on an opportunity to sail on a deployment on the Missouri back in the 80s because I was a short timer in the Navy. I ended up reenlisting but still didn't get to ride the ship. 😗

17:00 Thats because there are some very accurate neighbours to the North of the US (us Canadians develop most of the fire control systems for not only American but also internationally developed tanks and other weaponry which helps their accuracy and aiming abilities). Lovely video, Jingles!

If anyone sees this comment, despite how late it is, I'm looking for whichever version of Anchors Aweigh is played during the intro of the video. I can find a couple instrumental marching versions that sound similar, but none of them are this exact version. I like the sound of this version the best.

One other small item you missed in the history lesson about the flag from Perry was the number of planes that overflew the ceremony...383...the same number that attacked Pearl Harbor.

Nice video as per default with proper Jingles seal, I only have one small problem with something you highlight at the beginning as a positive side of Mighty mo's armor:
Mighty Mo, along with the now completely outclassed (or power creeped, choose your term) lead class ship, BB-61 (my once upon a patch loved Iowa, being its only plus over the Mighty Mo a better dispersion), and the always reliable Montana (the other Mighty Mo), got their citadel's lowered to the waterline, because of too many bbabies crying...
I say this after having played most of my Montana games (Monty being my most played silver ship) when the citadel was above waterline. I even bought the Iowa's premium camo while grinding for Monty back in the days because I had decided to keep Iowa (premium camo now useless due to Mighty Mo...). They never needed such a noob-friendly buff. Montana back then needed a small buff, ok, I accept this; maybe up to 1.2 km stealth buff (down to 16.6 +/- to keep the trend with the solid concealment you can get since TVIII with North Carolina, without being RN OP levels of stealth) and a bit of WD40 on the rudder, not more... Now Montana can be a better brawler than the GK mainly due to the much better rear turret's forward fining angles.
Nowadays claiming BBs should not have per default waterline, or under water citadels seems to be a blasphemy... then, we also have people claiming Conqueror is just fine and does not need nerfs... thanks WG for breeding even more special teammates...
BTW: Just because of being the ONLY BB with radar, the already good AA values, and the very good concealment which lets you disengage and repair, there is absolutely no point in not taking Superintendent over BFT... specially as the logical follow up after concealment expert is advanced firing training enabling your meaty bofors to get into action easier, and BFT + AFT is a bit of overkill right now...

Can confirm the Missouri prints more credits. I have both the Missouri and the Musashi. Think it was the day of the Musashi's release where I sent you a replay of her doing 228K damage (was a victory). Only walked away with 1 million credits. On the other hand, I have had games where I only did 100k - 150k damage in the Missouri and made over 1 million credits.....on a defeat. With that said, both ships are incredibly fun. I wouldn't tell anyone to avoid either of them. Another thing to consider, some players have found that they manage to average higher amounts of damage in the Musashi than in the Missouri. As a result, they tend to earn similar amounts of credits.

Had my Mo since a week after she was released. Been running credits only premium consumables only on ALL my ships ever since. And at this typing I'm sitting on more than 132 million in the bank.
Now if only we could use credits to exchange XP at a decreased rate. Or have WoT's option to accelerate training on maxed out ships.

I was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii when the Mighty Mo was moved into Pearl Harbor. That was a highlight of my seven years at Hickam. Another highlight was the filming of Pearl Harbor (a terrible movie) and watching a full re-enactment of the attack on Pearl Harbor. I was the U S Air Force explosives safety representative for the scenes filmed on Hickam.
