Everybody already had to replace it at least once and in most cases you don't know if it even got better: the bridge. One reason for that could be the string notches because even they're that small and unspectacular they definitely have an impact on the sound of an instrument and its brilliance.
Whoever makes instruments for the top performing musicians out there knows that it's all about the many little things to take care of in order to result in a really high quality and fabulous sounding instrument. And we will now give away some of these tips that among many others make the typical huge Mörth sound.

Als erstes einmal vielen Dank für die vielen Tipps und Informationen die eurer Kanal verständlich macht und teilt. Es ist mir immer wieder eine Freude hier zuzuschauen und -zuhören, die launige Art und Weise wie interagiert wird macht Spaß!
Ein Frage zur Saitenhöhe am Obersattel der Violine hätte ich noch:
Wieviel Platz muss maximal zwischen der/den Saite/n und dem Griffbrett am Obersattel sein? Ich habe mehrfach gelesen, dass Leute vom Geigenbauer 1mm und mehr eingerichtet bekommen haben und den Spielkomfort geklagen.
Ich wäre sehr dankbar für eine Antwort, gerne auch ein Video.

Dafür braucht es kein Video, das ist sehr einfach erklärt: Wenn das Griffbrett die richtige Form hat (leicht durchgebogen, siehe separates Video), dann reichen bei der Geige max. 0,5mm und bei der Bratsche max. 0,6mm bzw. Cello 0,8mm. Wenn es jedoch eine Buckelpiste ist/eigentlich abgezogen werden müsste oder aber der Geigenbauer wenig Vertrauen in seine Fertigkeiten hat, die ideale Form hinzubekommen, dann macht er sicherheitshalber mehr Abstand als nötig um einen unerwünschten Saitenkontakt beim Spielen zu vermeiden. Das geht natürlich auf Kosten des Spielkomforts vom Musiker.

Wuderbare Videos, Danke dafür, wirklich eine Freude diese anzusehen, die Musik im Hintergrund ist natürlich auch gut, aber durchgehend außer im Intro leider kontraproduktiv, da komme ich mir vor wie im Supermarkt beim Einkauf, also besser Stimme ohne Musik. Danke.😉🤗

Und liebe Michaela, merke: Wenn man mit Graphit Lidstriche macht, sollte man weder weinen noch in den Regen kommen, da man sonst aussieht wie ein Uhu nach einem Waldbrand 😂
Habe Heute Stifte von Faber Castell gekauft Härtegrad 9B. Ist reines Graphit und wohl das beste Schmiermittel für die Kerben.

@@ateliermoerth Trotzdem geht mir das Teflonspray nicht aus dem Kopf, welches ich für die Schubladenführungen einer alten Kommode benutzt habe. Seitdem gehen die Schubladen raus und rein wie Butter.
Allerdings habe ich nirgendwo bis jetzt gelesen, dass das auch für die
Geigensaiten geht. Der erste zu sein traue ich mich nicht.
Wer wagt der gewinnt ;)
@@ghlscitel6714 Teflonspray im Maschinenbau ja, aber nicht bei Möbel (trockene Seife besser geeignet) und im Streichinstrumentenbau hat es wirklich nichts verloren. ;)
@@knightsimperium4277 Haha klar, warum nicht. Das Instrument sollte vielleicht nicht mehr als ein paar Euro kosten, dann kann man ja mal experimentieren.

I never cut any kind of notches in my violin bridges as with tension and playing they make there own dent and only on the highest string the E string I put a cover for my carbon steel string string to sit it too makes it's own dent but on everyone including the nut I put plenty of carbon for the strings to slide on cutting into the bridge is a very bad idea as the strings will under tension make their own mark deep enough the carbon helps make them slip over very easily I never cut notches and I use hand made gut strings it vibrates far better my way .and never breaks the binding only one small adjuster on the E string two tones only played for 68 years
Sure, why not if it works. We're making notches because it guarantees the outer string's position from the beginning when using graphite for better sliding. Without notch especially the outer strings would be very likely to slip over or at least change the position. And since the upper nut is made of ebony the strings will definitely not make their way into the wood very fast and due to the hardness of the ebony they're pretty likely to move which isn't appreciated.
We also mentioned to make the notches so that only one third of the circumference of the string has contact with the bridge in order to keep the friction low.

Nein, wir planen jedoch in Zukunft auch Spezialwerkzeuge anzubieten. Das kann aber noch dauern.
Der arme Mann hat Metall-Spiralbohrer 0,1 mm steigend mit poliertem Schaft. Könnte damit auch gehen, möglicherweise besser als mit einem Nagel.
Prinzipiell eine gute Idee und vollkommen richtig, man muss nur damit rechnen, dass so feine Bohrer sich verbiegen wenn mann mit einem Hammer drauf klopft, bzw. könnten diese auch brechen. VHM Bohrer würde ich für dieses Vorhaben nicht verwenden 😉
