Beautiful Flower Pressing/ calm evening routine

- Flower pressing and placing them in a beautiful glass frame. A little calming evening routine for you all. Hope you enjoy - love Shruti
Pick small sized flowers which naturally have less moisture.
Flowers like Roses have a lot of moisture therefore, pressing them is hard.
Also, I noticed that yellow and blue flowers retained color better then the pink ones.
Experiment with different flowers and leaves. (Ferns are the easiest to dry).
Make sure you dry them completely before framing otherwise, they will mould.
After drying you can also spray them with hair spray or with dry flower preserving spray.
They will last for forever or for at least a few years, if taken good care of.
You can dry them in a microwave too: Place the flowers in between two bricks and keep
them in the microwave for a couple of minutes.
You can also press them under a book: This process takes times. At least 10 days.
I used iron pressing, which I think is the quickest method.
keep the Iron at low all the time so that you don't burn the flowers.
They will change color but I think even when they change color they look beautiful.
Be very careful and patient when you remove the flowers from the paper.
I didn't have to stick the flowers to the glass. I just wedged them in between the glasses and they remained in position.
Frame: the frame that I used is custom made from a local "Photo frame" shop.
I selected the size and then asked them to put a glass instead of a wooden cardboard at the back.
It cost me 350 which I think is very affordable.
Online its very difficult to find frames like these. I tried to find one on Amazon. Its linked below. I think it's half the size of the frame that I used and costs double its price.

Hello everyone, I should have commented earlier, but aage ke viewers ke liye -
- Frame is from a local photo shop. I selected the frame color and asked for two glasses instead of a back board. He customized it for me within 10 mins and only charged 350 rs. (I think a white colored frame would also look good).
- The iron was set at low all the time. Otherwise the flowers get burnt. Also, I noticed pink flowers loose color after pressing but yellow didn't.
- You can also dry them in the microwave. The results are better. I don't have a microwave so I used iron.
-Try with different flowers for different time and heat, and use the ones that look the best in the frame.
- I didn't use any glue. Just wedged them in between two glasses. They don't move once the glasses are clapsed together.
- The paper I am pressing it in, is just a normal white paper.
I hope you try it. Its a very easy DIY.

The yellow flowers are called 'Amaltash' in Bengali. Rabindranath Tagore happens to be very fond of these flowers, there are many references of these flowers in his works.
The yellow ones are called "kanikonna" in Malayalam. They are the flowers which we use to see our "VishuKani" on Vishu, one of the famous festival in Kerala. We keep them in front of the God and open our eyes to see them first on Vishu. It's said to make rest of the year good.

We call it as "sara konnai" in tamil nadu
And we call them Bahaavaa in Marathi.
In Assam it is called Honaroo. It's called golden shower in English

Beautiful.We feel so happy looking at flowers and beautiful surroundings. I liked your idea of keeping the flowers on the paper, againg putting paper and ironing, taking flower by flower and putting on the glass. Those students who have studied botany at post graduation level also preserve the leaves,flowers in newspapers fora longer time and stick them in books as part of project work. My younger brother used to this.
