- Crossing the Rio Hondo and entering Mexico illegally from Belize. No passport, no ID's, absolutely nothing except some beer money in our pockets. We traveled by small boat and the smugglers charged us $5 per person for the round trip.

Please what is the distance from the village to Mexico city and are there busses from that village when you are able to cross the river to Mexico
It is about 1500 km from there to Mexico City. Not sure if there are busses but a taxi to the Chetumal city is not to expensive. The bus station is there.

Lol… 14 yrs ago I crossed illegally into Mexico from California. Took my kids and we had a nice time. Was vacationing from Florida and didn’t bring our passports. The guards were cool when we were leaving.…they saw we bought loads of souvenirs and just shook their heads and said…Go on!!
Thats the way it is in Mexico. Most officials are very laid back. In Botes there isn't even a checkpoint.

Santa Cruz is on the Belize side of the river. You need to take a small boat from there to get into Mexico. There is no bridge there.

Hey Doug do you know if there is a bus or van that runs from Botes to Chetumal or Bacalar?
I crossed there once and went by taxi to Bacalar and them to the Belize border. I am sure there are collectivo vans that do that route. Taxi not so cheap but the van would be very cheap.

You can not get to Chiapas from Belize, only from Guatemala
How much miles from that location is the USA border and long is the boat ride to mexico
To San Diego, California is 2615 miles. To Brownsville, Texas 1225 miles. The boat ride is only 7 minutes long.

Hey Dougp, I'm visiting In a few days belize to transit thru Guatemala to mexico. I already applied for my tourist card online. Will transiting thru guatemala be an issue as I'm a tourist? What's the bus fare cost will be like from belize to mexico?
Should not be a problem transiting through Guatemala. The cost from Belize to Mexico depends on where you start in Belize. Not sure on the prices but it is very economical.

The boat ride is USD$2.50 per person. No problem if you take extra money along. Take enough to survive if you plan to spend some time there.

Belize and Mexico border each other so it is very short. Brazil to Mexico by airplane would be the quickest way.
From Brazil you go to Colombia, cross The Darien Gap (very dangerous 90 km walk in Jungle) then land in Panama, bus ride Costa Rica, Nicaragua , Honduras, Guatemala, then Belize.

It is very peaceful in Belize. But you will not be able to legally work without a work permit.

From what village in Belize to where in Mexico. Sorry I didn't catch the names.
On the Belize side the village is Santa Cruz and on the Mexican side it is San Francisco Botes. The village of Santa Cruz built a huge free parking lot for the hundreds of Belizeans who cross into Mexico daily from that spot.

So how would someone get from the village on the Mexican side all the way up north to the border with the US?
Not recommended. There are checkpoints on the highways and when caught the Mexican jails are not nice. Only Belizean locals use this area to cross when possible to go drink for small shopping trips.

No trains in that part of the country. You can not get on a bus or airplane if illegal.

@@libanali8938 Go to Orange Walk Town and take a bus to Santa Cruz Village. Just ask someone where the buses are. The boats are on the riverside. Remember if they catch you will be put in Jail. Use Google Maps and study the area before you get here. Santa Cruz, Belize and San Francisco Botes, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
