On a whole, Philippines has been lagging behind other countries. As you’d notice, we’re not even in the Top 16 coming into the tournament. Schools, universities and government don’t support the sport unlike in other countries.

How the hell were the seeding made? There are seeded teams with one player who no one has ever heard of and the Philippines aren't seeded. wtf
I understand the rankings have something to do with it but it seems like they used just the ranking of the top player of each pair, which is ludicrous. If Shane was playing with my grandma, they'd still be seeded 2 or what?
There are 32 teams in the field, with 16 of them being seeded. With the exception of the defending champions (who are automatically seeded #1 every year), the other 15 seeds are determined by the Matchroom Pool 9-ball world ranking of the highest player on each team. So for instance, this year Spain is the 1-seed by virtue of being the defending champions (with the World #1 FSR coincidentally already on the team). The 2-seed is the United States because SVB is the next highest ranked 9-ball player in the world at #2. Germany is the 3-seed because Filler is #3. Austria is the 4-seed because Ouschan is #4... and so on and so on. There is one caveat: The host country gets 2 teams in (A and B) and both must be ranked. Spain A is obviously the 1-seed, but Spain B doesn't have a player with a ranking high enough to make them one of the Top 16 seeds, so they get the 16-seed by default.
After that, the 16 unseeded teams are selected by the WPA using no particular criteria other than allowing an opportunity for some lesser known countries to represent on a larger stage, as well as some well known players. Matchroom then takes the 8 highest ranked teams from that 16 and makes them seeds 17-24 (for purposes of filling out the bracket) and the other 8 teams that are left are selected at random in a draw to match up with the 1-8 seeds. But yes... if Shane was playing with your grandma, USA would be the #2 seed.

The commentator says on day 2 or day 3 that 8ball and 3ball wouldn't have fallen and will stay out. Now I understand the concept of it because I am a pool player obviously when the clothes are new and balls pretty new the table will accept shots easier & thus bad shots will still make the ball drop because of the clean balls, new cloth & slide as well....but in my opinion thats bad design, the people who are responsible for pool tournaments should find a solution to this flaw....honestly change the brand of cloth or change something, you need consistency if you want higher viewing and higher level in the game.
The pool table should play the same on day1 as well as day 100, it shouldnt matter what day it is, if a ball is good it should fall, ball is hit bad should not fall.....thats incredibly stupid to me that we're in 2023 and still commentator says this ball wouldnt of fallen on day 4...thats something that should be fixed.
