AcidGlow the licker has stuck to me since his first appearance when you first see it crawl past the window before you enter a bloody hallway with a cop laying in a pool of blood with his head chopped off then you look up to see muscles, a brain, and a long drooling tongue and the sounds god sounded like a person swimming in gore re2 fucked me up as a kid and I loved it
AcidGlow there is something that's been bugging me for years about the predator. When I was fifth grade, I bought a Halloween costume, that was a predator mask and gloves. I realized that the gloves had an extra little finger on the wrist. I was wondering why some obscure costume company would put such a weird detail on the glove. Just last night, I was watching predator 2, and in the scene were the predator gets its hand cut off, I saw this extra finger. And when I look at the feet of the neca figures I own, I see they also have a tiny backward facing appendage near the back of there foot ( not to be mistaken with the large forward facing toe on the other side of the foot). This leads me to believe that predators have a vestigial finger and toe, that humans do not have. What are your thoughts?

As much as I enjoyed RE7. This is the sort of thing I truely missed.. Playing through the old games for the first time was such a treat as you never knew what you would encounter next. RE7 was really good but sadly did lack a lot in the enemy variety area

My favorite creature is definitely nemisis T-type and character is HUNK/leon...lol I always used to think lickers were made by injecting the t-virus directly into a bunny since the first time I seen the resident evil movie when I was younger and they showed them in a flashback

Crimsonlee2XX yea it was the only logical conclusion I could come too at the time you know with them explaining the plot and all...I really thought there was a reason for them showing rabbits being directly injected and it kinda made sense from what I learned at the time how it drastically mutates living tissue and it made sense to me cause how the licker was so good at jumping later and also in the second movie and I honestly stayed with that knowledge until just a few years ago...I still think they should be bunnies honestly makes it much more scary then just an Uber crimsen head which where terrifying enough as it was...funny thing my very first crimson head experience came from the umbrella cronicles on the Wii and me and my brother where playing through...oh the astonishment horror and panic we went through when the game walked us up the stairs only to look back down at a zombie we just killed have it convols violently grow sharper nails and teeth and then SPRINT up the stairs after us!! Yeah were not very fun times

So anything that lacks eyes and uses ears is similar to Xenomorph?. I don't doubt they took inspiration from that (along with the creature from Doom and Carnage from Spiderman ect)
Xenomorphs themselves get their jaws from nature, specifically from dragonfly nymphs, which have jaws like that in real life and use them to catch mosquito larvae and small fish to eat. Lickers seem to squat into a frog pose when they attack with their tongues, so I assume that provided some inspiration.
Remember, if you see a monster in a movie or a game and wonder where they got the idea for it, it's a safe bet they got it from nature. Nature is incredibly fucked up and freaky.
I guess the texas blind salamander is also like a xenomorph, it has no visable eyes and no hair on its body, just like a xenomorph

Favorite Character: Leon Kennedy. He will always be my favorite police officer, despite the fact that he is made up and not real.
Favorite creature: Zombie Dog. The only monster in the entire Resident Evil franchise that is based off of something that doesn't scare me, and that I love. Besides, the Zombie Dogs don't even look 'that' scary, they kinda look cuddly. (Even though they are zombies, I still don't know why I wish I could pet one)
I underestimated the Licker Bs, in RE5, when I first played. After I started shooting them, they swarmed me. I hated the co-op part where Chris and Sheva have to split up, and walk, not run, and I was low on ammo, and everything

Anyone knows this... ? I remember that I played a demo version of Bio Hazard, and in the area where Leon meets Licker the first time where the blood drips, if Leon comes near it, there's a short scene of the appearance of Licker and it instantly kills Leon.
The lickers are by far the best looking resident evil characters of the franchise that I can think of, but I am a imaginest so I can imagine a better monster for the franchise that has total potential of being a monster.

The exposed brain is an interesting design choice, I will give it that. But how the fuck are we supposed to believe that this thing is anything more than the single easiest kill in a zombie outbreak is a mystery to me. Zombies? Destroy the brain. Exposed brain? Throbbing, glowing, flashing weak point. Your average human could body these things with a well placed screw driver or hell, even a punch with some brass knuckles.
Leon is my favorite character ever, but when it comes to choose my favorite monster well, it's more difficult xwx I really love the design of the zombies on the queen Zenobia in resident evil revelation 1 I also love uroboros Weaker, the lickers and all the boss in the saga of resident evil.

Another interesting fact about the licker is that in the book for resident evil 2 it also states that Rabbits were part of it as well and were actually the first licker prototype before actual human testing.
The licker became a favorite because it legitimately terrified me as a kid but I always liked the Nemesis because he was a badass.

Gotta say I REALLY love channels that go into the lore of everything in games. MAINLY the monsters. I know of only one other channel that does this, But they do it on The Fall Out games. But when I found your channel I had to SUB right away cuz I love the RE games and always wanted to know everything about every single monster in them. U do a great job at it so NEVER stop doing these cuz they r great.

I would really like to see a Resident Evil 5 Reaper Explantation! I always wondered how the Reaper was formed.
One thought that I've had was shots to the exposed brain. Then a coworker gave me a decent theory. The inflammation that caused the appearance of the brain damaged a majority of it's functionality, leaving the lower part of the brain insulated with fodder tissue. Like the brain formed a callus around what works to keeps it moving and responding to stimulation. The damage in that scenario would explain the missing eyes, but throws a wrench in the super hearing aspects.

Where in RE2 the introduction of the licker is all this lore found? I don't remember hearing about some of this from the in game docs.
Favorite creature has to be Mr X. Nemesis was always after you but everyone knew that. The fixed camera and the timing of when Mr X comes was just perfect becyhe could be around the corner and you won't know until the fixed camera changed

Dont recall seeing a Licker after the Raccoon City incident. For the live movie, I would take no information from those. I did not see all CG movie, otherwise I do not think the implication of the Las Plagas would have any part into it as it was a secret found years later, but kept secret until then by the Los Illuminados.

I'd say the xenomorph with some confidence.
I say that the Xenomorph would win because it:
-is bigger than a licker and would be able to keep up with one in speed
- can use his acidic blood against the licker if damaged
-has more "weapons" than a licker (Claws, Teeth, second mouth, Tail, acidic blood)
-almost everytime goes in packs of 3 or more unless shut off from its pack
-has scaled, almost armorlike, skin which gives him a bit more resistance while overwhelming the licker with brut strength and agilty whereas a liker is a great hunter in itself but has his pure flesh and brain exposed to get damaged easily
Also i believe that a xenomorph would be able to tear even through thick musclestructures with ease when enraged especially with its sharp tail
Would still be an interesting fight though if all specimen of each race would go into battle
Xenomorph at first, but a scratch or a bite from the licker will eventually turn the Xenomorph in a zombie-xeno when the licker is long dead, the will eventually both lose

Wait timeout I know this video is old but I don't know of all about that Licker B stuff with tricell . The Licker B was in existence during Resident Evil 2. In the original game it was an enemy in that game. Tricell didn't exist in the lore back then so I don't understand all of that. I guess maybe they did a retcon but that doesn't even make sense to do it that way because they were running around the laboratories of raccoon City during Resident Evil 2 so wouldn't make sense that Tricell would release Licker Bs into Raccoon City when it was already overrun by monsters what sense would that make? 🤷🏽♂️

i hope these make a comeback in resident evil 2 remake but one thing i really really want is a full on upgrade to the licker. change its attacks, the way its fights and how to beat it. lickers have become cheap knockoffs of what they use to be with no fear or purpose than being the poster child of resident evil. have them climb walls like they use to and bullets only slowing them down fast enough to use other methods. have tongues catch you and drag you forcing you to make quick steps or you die from them or other zombies. to be honest if they put a cross bow that pierces enemies with spears that can be a effective way to kill them, pierce them to the wall than shoot them till they dead. put the fear of god into us when we see them not oh. right now their just as dangerous as the average zombie dog.

Latin doesn't have a word for "the" and the latin word for plagues is "Plagae". He is still wrong and using the strawman falacy on my statement won't change anything. You should really think critically about what you're about to post on the internet before you make a fool of yourself.
